At Yechen's words, sweat began beading on Ferdinand's forehead. He thought to himself, Come on, man, they're just some rare metals. Is killing Celestial Dragons really necessary? That would bring a Marine admiral down on you.
At the thought of an admiral, Ferdinand's expression changed. Recalling what Yechen had said earlier, a terrifying possibility occurred to him. Could this guy already be strong enough to stand against an admiral?
Probably not, but his strength was definitely beyond Ferdinand's estimates.
With that in mind, Ferdinand felt even more confident about offering information on the rare metals, and relieved that he had made that choice.
"Yes, I do have those rare metals, and they're top-quality, too. I originally planned to use them to forge a blade to bribe an officer at Marine Headquarters.
"Yechen, I can give you these rare metals, but you have to agree to one condition. If I ever get into trouble, help me out. Don't worry, I won't force you to do anything. Just lend me a hand if it's within your power."
Ferdinand was thinking ahead, leaving himself a way out!
"Sure. You can contact me when the time comes. We're heading toward Toto Island now." Something seemed to occur to Yechen, and he asked,
"The high-ranking officer you were planning to give that blade to wouldn't happen to be Onigumo, would he?"
"No. Why do you ask?" Ferdinand's puzzled voice came through.
"Nothing. We just ran into some Marines on the way here. The officer aboard their warship seemed to be Onigumo."
"And then?" Ferdinand had a bad feeling.
"And then he ceased to exist."
Yechen's casual remark nearly scared Ferdinand to death.
