The bearded man showed no surprise at the scene before him. Instead, he cooled the coin in water, handed it back to Ferdinand, and said,
"Honored guests, please follow me. I'll take you to see the head of the family."
Without waiting for a reply, he headed straight for the workshop's back door.
Yechen and the others followed. He hadn't expected this family to be so secretive that even arranging a meeting required a special recognition signal.
Seeing their confusion, Ferdinand explained quietly that some members of this family were extremely arrogant. They often relied on their superb craftsmanship to look down on everyone else.
If he hadn't already done business with them, and if he weren't the buyer, even Ferdinand might not have been able to persuade them to forge a blade for Yechen.
Yechen understood how these conceited people thought. With a smile that made Ferdinand's hair stand on end, he replied softly,
"Don't worry. If they dare refuse, I'll keep killing until they agree. Better yet, I'll kill until they beg to forge my blade. Either way, I won't let you make this trip for nothing."
Yechen certainly didn't consider himself a good person. Although he had his limits, the most important rule was not to cross him.
Ferdinand nearly collapsed in fright at Yechen's words. Terror filled his eyes as he pleaded,
"Boss, I'll call you boss, all right? For the sake of the rare metals I supplied you and the Swordsmith I helped you find, please don't do that. I'll talk to them properly and make sure they agree to forge your blade."
Yechen patted his shoulder in satisfaction, though he also found it a little strange. Since when had Ferdinand developed such a compassionate heart?
