Just as Su Jiu's consciousness was about to withdraw from Jiao Yue's sea of consciousness, another disturbance arose within Jiao Yue's body.

The Demon Seed seemed to notice that a wisp of Su Jiu's consciousness had yet to leave Jiao Yue's body. It condensed demonic qi into a net inside her, seemingly intent on capturing and devouring that wisp.
To the Demon Seed, Jiao Yue's body had now become its own territory. Whatever entered could be devoured.
Fortunately, Su Jiu reacted no slower than the Demon Seed. Upon sensing something amiss, she sent another thread of divine sense into Jiao Yue.
The two strands of consciousness surged against each other, breaking straight through the weakest point in the net of demonic qi.
With her consciousness restored, Su Jiu rapidly formed seals with both hands, tightening the innate origin qi around Jiao Yue by another few inches.
