Wei Qian's eyes brightened. What did that mean? It meant something on the platform could restrain the vine. Perhaps it was a formation, perhaps a spiritual talisman. Whatever it was, the vine seemed unable to leave those steps.
Wei Qian quickly began weighing up the few cultivators who were still alive.
He had to admit that, weakened as they were, all of these cultivators had higher cultivation than he did. Making use of them would probably take some effort.
"Fellow Daoists, I know how hard this has been on everyone, but this entire chamber doesn't even have a door. We're trapped here. I have an idea that might get us all out. Would you be interested in hearing it?"
After what had happened earlier, none of the survivors had a friendly look to spare him. Even those words failed to draw much attention. Most merely swept him with a cold glance, then looked away again.
A few even had murderous intent lurking in their eyes.
Their concerns now were simply that they had little spiritual qi left in their bodies, while the spiritual qi here was so thin that recovering was difficult. With that enormous creature looming before them as well, they had little energy to spare for him.
Wei Qian had no doubt that, once they left this place, he would probably be the first they put to the blade.
Though those thoughts ran through his mind, he showed none of them on his face. Instead, he wore a slightly guilty expression. "I know my mistake earlier cost me everyone's trust, but I still want to make some amends for what happened. I ask for nothing else, and I wouldn't dare covet the Sword Casket again. All I ask is that you spare my life once we get out."
