Su Jiu endured her physical discomfort and used her divine sense to observe the flow of spiritual qi, which followed almost no discernible pattern.
Some currents were steady, some explosive, some gentle, and some restless. Every current here seemed to have emotions of its own.
Besides that, Su Jiu discovered that these currents contained a third kind of qi, apart from demonic and spiritual qi: a pale gray current formed by the fusion of the two.
There was not much of this current, however.
It appeared before Su Jiu only occasionally, unlike the demonic and spiritual qi that so frequently surrounded her.
The gray currents did not like approaching humans. They seemed to prefer flowers, grasses, and trees. Upon touching branches and leaves, many of them would selectively enter the plants.
Before long, a dewdrop would condense on the surface of the branches and leaves the gray currents had entered.
The dewdrop would slide off a leaf and fall to the ground, but instead of soaking into the soil, it would turn back into gray mist and merge seamlessly with the surrounding fog.
Soon afterward, it would begin circulating again, repeating this cycle over and over.
Meanwhile, the seemingly chaotic demonic and spiritual qi alternated between joining and separating. Some currents traveled together, while others flowed apart.
Su Jiu slowly opened her eyes. Although the demonic and spiritual qi flowing here truly followed no pattern, the currents formed by their fusion clearly did.
At the same time, Yun Huanling and Chu Luohen opened their eyes as well. They had evidently noticed this oddity too.
The three exchanged glances, each having gained some idea of what was going on.
Yun Huanling took three round metal discs made from an unknown material out of his Storage Ring.
