Apart from Qi Song, who was still somewhat bewildered, Xia Jue and Chu Luohen both understood what had happened to Su Jiu.
They simply left it unspoken by tacit agreement.
So did Su Jiu.
After the quarter hour of deep night passed, daylight did not return. Instead, two formations appeared before them, one white and the other purple.
Su Jiu seemed to breathe a sigh of relief. "We can finally leave."
"If you don't want to smile, don't. It looks awful."
The faint smile of relief on Su Jiu's face froze instantly, then slowly vanished until profound exhaustion crept over her features.
They heard her whisper, "Sorry."
Only after Su Jiu had taken some time to recover did she look again at the two teleportation arrays that had appeared so abruptly.
The teleportation array on the left glowed white, its patterns looking more like those of a conventional teleportation array that would take them straight out.
The patterns on the purple teleportation array to the right were far stranger. It felt more like a Primordial Teleportation Array of the sort Su Jiu had read about in ancient texts. Exactly which kind it was, however, remained open to question, and its destination was clearly uncertain as well.
Seemingly noticing the confusion on Su Jiu's face, Chu Luohen offered his analysis in a cold voice.
"A primordial teleportation array should have existed since ancient times, so I suspect this formation was here to begin with."
Su Jiu knitted her brows. "That seems unlikely. After all, they're indeed using this formation now. And the Formation Disk we saw before entering gave us a very clear indication that they set this formation up."
Rather than answering her, Chu Luohen asked, "Do you know about modifying formations?"
Su Jiu paused. "What?"
Chu Luohen nodded.
