Chakra flowed from his hand, arcs of electricity mingling with Naruto's wind to surround the four of them. Sasuke rolled his eyes.
"Seriously, Kakashi-sensei, you're still hung up on not picking that damn C-rank mission?"
Sasuke understood the implication behind Kakashi's words perfectly.
First of all, the four of them still had the old Third Hokage's A-rank follow-up mission to investigate the recent abnormalities in the Land of Water, so once they accepted this C-rank mission, abandoning it was out of the question.
Kakashi's words carried a hint of regret that he hadn't chosen the tower repair mission in the Land of Rain or the mission to clear out the remnants of a cult in the Land of Hot Water.
Really, after several years with the three of them, Kakashi had completely let down his guard and was just casually griping. There wasn't much more to it.
Still, given Kakashi's lazy personality, Sasuke thought it was perfectly normal for him to feel that way. But he really couldn't compliment Kakashi's luck with picking missions.
His luck was absolutely rotten. If the bridge-building mission in the Land of Waves in the original story had gone to Kurenai Yuhi's team instead of Team Kakashi, Naruto would have ended up with Asuma Sarutobi, alternating swigs of liquor and drags on a cigarette as they sobbed over two graves.
Then there were all the absurdly dangerous missions Kakashi kept drawing in the movies.
His luck couldn't possibly get any worse.
"Take this seriously. I know you're very strong, but..."
Kakashi cleared his throat, trying to muster his dignity as their teacher and make them understand that this wasn't child's play.
But when he noticed all three of them staring at the diamond collector's edition of Icha Icha Paradise tucked against his chest, which he
