The explanation was blunt enough that Yin Chao more or less understood.
He still wanted to ask about the white-haired woman, but Shang Yi interrupted his thoughts by coming through the door with a bowl of hot soup.
Yin Chao was about to pull his hands out from under the covers to take the hot soup from Shang Yi, only for Shang Yi to bring the bowl straight to Yin Rui's lips.

Suddenly, quick footsteps pattered across the floor. When he looked up, all he saw was Ois's retreating back.
Before long, Ois stood beside the bed, carefully holding a bowl of steaming, rich soup.
His eyes sparkled, like a fluffy puppy holding a toy in its mouth and begging for praise.
Yin Rui turned her head, glanced at Ois with a smile, then looked up at Shang Yi.
"See? He even remembered to bring a spoon..."
Shang Yi curled his lips and blew at the wisps of hair over Yin Rui's forehead. "Hold the bowl for me."
The two were so sickeningly affectionate that Yin Chao simply turned away.
Once he had eaten his fill, Yin Chao sat on the bed, happily letting Ois wipe his mouth, but Shang Yi called Ois outside.
Yin Chao was a little curious. Neither Shang Yi nor Ois looked as though they had anything to discuss.
