At this point, no one would be naive enough to think another player had discovered the same clues and taken the elevator up to explore the Instance... So there was only one possibility left-
The owner of this laboratory had returned.
Bo Yi did not know which floor the laboratory's owner would return to, but the mess he had made earlier was still waiting in the laboratory downstairs. Whichever floor the owner returned to, a different "surprise" awaited them.
He had to get out of here, fast.
But with the elevator already running, that escape route had been cut off. Bo Yi could only start searching the laboratory for another way out.
Unlike the laboratory downstairs, however, the glass cases here were arranged with remarkable regularity. There were gaps between them, but the distance between any two cases was almost identical. There were no enormous gaps that suddenly widened, like the one in the laboratory below.
Bo Yi looked up at the ceiling. It was so high that even if he climbed onto the glass cases, he could not possibly reach it without tools. But even if he found something he could use to climb, whether his body, affected by the Instance as it was, could hold out long enough to get up there-and then keep going until he found an exit-was another matter entirely.
So Bo Yi lowered his head again and turned his attention to the floor. The snow-white tiles fit snugly together, their edges smooth and even, their arrangement perfectly neat. Bo Yi stepped on every single tile-the sound that echoed from each was identical. Beneath them, there were no mechanisms, no trapdoors, and no escape routes.
Bo Yi bit his nails in frustration.
