Everyone's nerves instantly stretched taut. They looked around, trying to locate the source of the sound.
Bo Yi's gaze, however, slowly settled on the lumps beneath the blankets on the other three beds. Those lumps seemed not to have moved at all since they entered, but a closer look revealed that they had been trembling slightly all along.
The sound was coming from beneath those lumps.
And only last night, Bo Yi had seen firsthand with his own "roommate" just how much could be hidden beneath one of those lumps...
So, under the other players' puzzled gazes, he passed the player who had forced the door open and walked straight to the lump nearest the door. Then he ripped the blanket away-
"Hiss-"
The other players all sucked in a sharp breath.
Beneath the blanket, a patient NPC lay curled on the bed, his body hunched over. Blood stained most of his hospital gown, with only a few patches retaining their original color. He was holding a large, mangled chunk of flesh, gnawing on it with an expression of pure enjoyment. Spattered blood covered his face, with the area around his mouth taking the worst of it. His bloodstained teeth sank viciously into what appeared to be a piece of thigh, every bite gouging deep. Blood mixed with juices sprayed out, slowly dripping onto the sheets and floor and merging with the blood already there.
They had found the dead player's missing body parts...
But even with his blanket pulled away, the patient continued eating as though no one else were there. The sounds of tearing and chewing came one after another, punctuated by the occasional gulp from his throat... This was not the first time the players had seen such a scene, but it still made their scalps prickle
