"You mean..."
The doctor slowly narrowed his eyes above his mask. "You're a 'vessel' too?"
His gaze swept over Bo Yi again and again, full of dismissal. "Since you've already been to my office, how could you not know... my criteria for selecting 'vessels'?"
The fact that Bo Yi had recently pricked his finger to draw blood for a test alone disqualified him from the requirement that "a superior vessel must have no damage, scratches, or other flaws on its surface"-the requirement of "no damage."
Yet Bo Yi remained perfectly composed. "If you don't believe me, you can see for yourself..." Unfortunately, his hands were strapped to the examination table, so he couldn't show the doctor his already-healed fingertip himself.
After all, even the wound he had deliberately inflicted on himself on the first night had completely healed, let alone a wound so small it was almost invisible.
"You're mistaken..." The doctor shook his head, looking as though Bo Yi had no understanding of the situation at all. "The 'vessels' I want need more than an undamaged surface..."
Wounds could heal, but although the surface of the skin healed and might appear to bear no trace of injury, its texture and grain had actually changed completely. In fact, a test using the instrument he had painstakingly developed would reveal that beneath those seemingly intact outer layers of skin, the shape and structure of the deeper tissues... had completely changed, and even retained scars that could never fully heal.
After all, if all he required was a surface without wounds, how could he have collected so few "vessels" in an entire year...
So a completely undamaged surface alone was nowhere near enough.
After listening to the doctor's patient explanation, Bo Yi's expression remained unchanged. He smiled faintly at the doctor. "You
