Despair instantly appeared on the faces of the ten players enveloped in the beams of light.
They had tried to escape the deadly beams, but unlike before, when the lights had swept back and forth to select people, this time, once the beams settled overhead, their bodies were pinned in place as well. They could not move at all.
As the "clown" finished speaking, faint red lines suddenly appeared on their faces. Each was only as thick as a thread, so fine that it was impossible to notice without looking closely. One by one, these fine lines appeared on the ten players' faces, necks, arms... and every patch of exposed skin. As their numbers gradually increased, they grew as dense as spiderwebs.
The other players standing near the beams, who had been lucky enough not to be selected, were instantly sickened by the sight, which was hardly kind to anyone with trypophobia. They began backing away from the beams. But before they could take more than a few steps, they heard a very soft pop, like a bubble bursting. The next second, bright red liquid, still warm, suddenly sprayed from those red "threads."
"Aaaah-!"
The surrounding players could not dodge in time and were sprayed all over their faces and bodies. They frantically raised their hands to shield themselves, but it did no good. More and more of the "threads" were spraying blood. If they blocked the stream aimed at their faces, they could not stop another jet shooting from someone's chest...
When these red "fountains" finally exhausted the "water" they had "stored" in their bodies, the surrounding players, still shaken, lowered the hands they had kept raised-and saw another scene that terrified them to their cores-
The ten people, drained of blood, abruptly burst apart like shattered plaster statues.
