Anyone with eyes could tell that, although Yue Zhengqing had been deliberately mysterious when introducing his ability, he had not exactly lied. His hands apparently generated extremely high temperatures, much like flames, severely scorching the surfaces of anything they touched.
Calling that power comparable to Feng Ling's control over flames was a stretch. Her strength came not only from the heat and burns her flames caused, but also from her ability to tame them until they were as obedient as a pet. She could change their method of attack with a thought, and even shift freely between offense and defense.
Still, despite its considerable limitations, Yue Zhengqing's ability was undeniably powerful-enough to make someone of his disposition feel smug, even to the point of losing his head.
