Chi Yan's gaze settled on Su Bai's face, his pupils contracting slightly.
In his eyes, Su Bai's gaze was still gray and hazy, like a mist-shrouded abyss, still and undisturbed. Yet what drew the most attention now was not Su Bai's unusual eyes, but the blood-red mark that had suddenly appeared on his left cheek-
It was an eerie design sketched in just a few strokes, resembling a red flower in full bloom, alluring and uncanny, as though it might spread outward from Su Bai's left cheek at any moment and creep across his entire face.
Chi Yan's eyes held barely concealed surprise.
The mark did nothing to spoil Su Bai's already striking appearance, but what concerned Chi Yan was when it had appeared.
There had clearly been nothing on Su Bai's face before, yet now this blood-red mark was distinctly etched into his skin. To the Players, it was certainly an abnormality.
"It's nothing. When I heard that voice earlier, I felt something was wrong, so I made a few preparations." Su Bai clearly knew why Chi Yan was surprised. He raised a hand and lightly traced the mark, his expression remaining calm, as though it were merely an ordinary mark rather than some unknown Mutation.
"Just in case, I summoned a few little fellows that might be able to help us." Su Bai had already prepared his explanation. "But when I use these little things, certain traits or 'side effects' appear on my body. It's nothing bad."
"These little fellows can bring some light to the corridor when the lights are off. I thought they might come in handy." Su Bai was deliberately vague about the Blood Butterflies' abilities.
"Maybe they really did help us a great deal." Xu Rui, who stood nearby lost in thought, spoke pensively.
