Chapter 377
After packing everything up, Lin Yi drove to the building where the Shadow Man was.
There was quite a commotion on the rooftop. He could vaguely make out the Shadow Man's long, slender arms flailing wildly. It seemed to have already engaged Zhu Cheng in a fierce fight.
Lin Yi had no intention of going up to help. Leaning against the car, he opened a pack of cigarettes, took one out, and casually lit it.
Time ticked by, and the commotion on the rooftop gradually died down.
Soon, the corpse of the level-five aberration—the Shadow Man—fell from the rooftop and slammed heavily onto the road on the other side.
Its body was covered in claw marks.
There were also wounds left by a dagger, and those wounds gleamed with a dark green sheen.
It had clearly been poisoned.
Lin Yi glanced at it and exhaled a mouthful of smoke, then turned his gaze toward the building's entrance.
Around twenty minutes later, Zhu Cheng staggered out of the building.
She wasn't in very good shape either. Her arm was still bleeding, blood lingered at the corner of her mouth, and her outer jacket was in tatters.
Surprisingly, though, her baseball cap showed no signs of damage.
"Brother-in-law!"
Seeing Lin Yi waiting for her downstairs, Zhu Cheng immediately cried out in excitement, "I did it! I killed that Level Five Aberration Creature!"
The smile still lingered on her lips as she finished speaking, but exhaustion overwhelmed her, and she passed out on the spot.
Lin Yi immediately darted forward and caught Zhu Cheng in his arms. He checked her injuries and only breathed a sigh of relief once he was sure they weren't life-threatening.
Rather than hurry back to the car, he carried Zhu Cheng toward a pharmacy up ahead.
