Chapter Summaries

Lin Yi scavenged supplies and a small electric car in the village, then killed two would-be thieves and an Aberration Creature with Cost Erasure. He left the village in the enhanced car, having revealed how lethal his ability could be.

• Lin Yi entered the village, gathered food and oil, and found a working electric car for seniors.
• A man and a woman tried to steal Lin Yi’s car, but he killed them with Cost Erasure when the man attacked him.
• Lin Yi enhanced the car’s battery and drove toward the village entrance.
• An Aberration Creature appeared on Lin Yi’s shoulder, but Cost Erasure shattered and erased her.

Lin Yi joined Shangguan Bei’s convoy after leaving the Village, where Wang Zhennan and Gao Meiru had been found dead. The convoy welcomed him as one of their own and entrusted him with the shared rice, flour, and cooking oil.

• Lin Yi left the Village on a Senior Mobility Scooter while other survivors reported finding Wang Zhennan and Gao Meiru dead.
• Zhang Haitao and Zhu Cheng emerged with supplies, and the convoy departed the Village before stopping to rest.
• Zhu Cheng brought Lin Yi to Shangguan Bei and Zhang Haitao, who explained the convoy’s shared-supplies arrangement for Sequence Transcendents.

Shangguan Bei used his Curio: Peeping TV! to spy on Lin Yi’s vehicle and saw a woman who looked exactly like Zhu Cheng, prompting him to ask Uncle Wang about Zhu Cheng’s family.

• Lin Yi drew his machete when Daphne and her two companions approached him for supplies, frightening them into fleeing.

Lin Yi traveled deeper into the forest with the Convoy and learned more about Shangguan Bei, Zhu Cheng, and their Sequence Pathways. Shangguan Bei suspected Lin Yi was connected to Zhu Cheng’s missing cousin, while Lin Yi remained concerned about advancing his [Criminal] Sequence Pathway without contacting Cheng Rong.

• Lin Yi drove Old Man's Joy along the broken highway until Shangguan Bei stopped the Convoy beside a river for the night and arranged watches.
• Zhang Haitao told Lin Yi that Shangguan Bei was a Sequence Eight [Guide] and explained the dangerous side effects of the [Navigator] Sequence Pathway.
• Shangguan Bei asked Zhu Cheng about her family and learned that her older cousin closely resembled her and had been missing for half a year.
• Shangguan Bei realized the woman Lin Yi had encased in ice might be Zhu Cheng’s cousin and kept his suspicions to himself.
• Lin Yi asked Zhang Haitao about advancement and worried that he could not obtain the method for advancing his [Criminal] Sequence Pathway from Sequence Five to Sequence Four.

A Tier Three Aberration Centaur attacked the convoy, and Zhang Haitao and Zhu Cheng stayed behind to hold it off while the others escaped. After Lin Yi warned Shangguan Bei that the creature would pursue the group, Shangguan Bei decided to turn back and rescue the two, citing Zhu Cheng’s possible connection to the woman frozen in Lin Yi’s Ice Blocks Curio.

• Lin Yi took over the first watch, then Zhu Cheng relieved him for the second half of the night.
• An Aberration Centaur charged Zhu Cheng, knocked her aside, and drove Zhang Haitao back with a swing of its bone weapon.

• Lin Yi knocked the Aberration Centaur away from Zhu Cheng, trapped it with Blood Prison, and cut it in two with the Soul-Devouring Saw.

Lin Yi kept Jiang Ya’s frozen body and explained Sequence advancement to Zhu Cheng as the convoy continued its journey. The convoy was then stopped by an armed group whose leader claimed they were not from the same world, leaving Shangguan Bei unsure how to proceed.

• Lin Yi offered Zhu Cheng Jiang Ya’s body, but Zhu Cheng told him to keep it, and Lin Yi stored the Frozen Ice.

The chapter ended with Fang Yan asking Lin Yi how many Sequence Fives his convoy had and proposing they work together to enter the domain.

• Lin Yi corrected Shangguan Bei about the worlds merging, then told him to praise the Chaos Sovereign to test the convoy blocking their road.
• Shangguan Bei shouted the Marauder Convoy’s slogan, drawing wary attention from the bald man and the people at the Village entrance.

Lin Yi entered with the Fire God Convoy but awoke alone among Undead Convoy members on a subway, unable to move as an announcement called for passengers to exit at Yellow Springs Hotel.

• Zhang Qi arrived with the Undead Convoy, learned that Fang Yan was preparing to enter a Weird Domain, and agreed to join him and Lin Yi.
• Lin Yi warned Zhang Qi not to let his people die inside, and Zhang Qi led hundreds of Undead Convoy members through the blood-red doorway.
• Fang Yan cautioned Lin Yi that the Undead Convoy might ambush them, then entered the Weird Domain with Lin Yi and five Fire God Convoy members.
• A murmur affected Lin Yi as he entered, but the flowers on his Thorns freed him from its influence.

Lin Yi and the others entered the Yellow Springs Hotel’s rule-bound weird domain, where the red fog killed a member of the Undead Convoy and the hotel’s rules threatened them with a seven-day stay. The chapter left Lin Yi studying the handbook for loopholes as Fang Yan considered whether to cooperate with Zhang Qi.

• Lin Yi and the others got off the subway after the announcement released them, and Fang Yan identified the domain as a rule-bound weird domain.

Lin Yi was assigned to the Seventeenth Floor with Zhou Ke and asked her to alert him if they encountered other guests there.

• A member of the Undead Convoy found a scorched slip revealing the hidden rule that the elevator was absolutely safe at night.
• Fang Yan told everyone to check their rooms, avoid breaking rules, stay inside at night, and search for potion ingredients and further hidden rules during the day.
• Lin Yi was assigned to share room 1717 on the Seventeenth Floor with Zhou Ke, who had initially called for him rudely before recognizing him as a Sequence Five.
• Zhou Ke offered to gather the other people on the Seventeenth Floor to discuss hidden rules, and Lin Yi agreed while asking her to report any other guests they encountered.

Lin Yi assessed the Seventeenth Floor’s dangers and warned three men that entering the humanoid Aberration Creatures’ rooms could put them at risk. When a server delivered food, Lin Yi found rule nine, which said the server carried the key to the Eighteenth Floor and warned against taking it by force.

• Zhou Ke gathered the Seventeenth Floor’s sequence transcendents and told Lin Yi that three other guests might be humanoid Aberration Creatures.
• Lin Yi learned that three men had searched the guests’ rooms and warned them to occupy the elevator that night.
• Lin Yi told Zhou Ke that hidden rules might be tied to special settings or specific people, then urged her to rest.
• A server brought Lin Yi and Zhou Ke food but ignored Lin Yi’s question about whether everyone received the same meal.

After midnight, Lin Yi confronted the Aberration couple that had killed three hotel guests and destroyed them with his Blood Prison and Machete. He returned to Room 1717 with Zhou Ke, but warned her that the elderly Aberration on their floor might be the greater danger.

• A scream revealed that Wang and two other guests had died in the corridor after entering rooms occupied by Aberration Creatures.
• Lin Yi opened the door and saw the Aberration couple, while Zhou Ke spotted the three guests hanging dead from black ropes.
• Lin Yi trapped the couple in his Blood Prison and hacked both Aberrations to death with his Curio, the Machete.
• Lin Yi noticed that the elevator remained on the tenth floor and inferred that someone there had trapped Wang and the others.
• Lin Yi returned to Room 1717, dismissed the Blood Prison, and warned Zhou Ke to beware of the elderly Aberration on their floor.

Lin Yi learned that the Aberration Old Man might kill through telephone calls and warned the other survivors on the Seventeenth Floor not to answer ringing phones. Meanwhile, Fang Yan and the survivors gathered downstairs counted the dead and prepared to search Lin Yi’s floor.

• Lin Yi and Zhou Ke ate breakfast, and Lin Yi asked whether she planned to go downstairs; Zhou Ke chose to stay in their room.
• Three survivors from the Seventeenth Floor told Lin Yi that a phone had rung in one of their rooms, and Lin Yi warned them not to answer calls at night.
• Lin Yi told the survivors he had killed the Aberration Couple and advised them not to provoke the Aberration Old Man yet.
• Fang Yan met Zhang Qi and the others downstairs, where Zhang Qi complained that more than a hundred people had died overnight.
