As expected, Rhode and Lilia reached the second floor without anyone stopping them.

The scene here was very different from downstairs.

If the first floor looked more like an office, the second resembled a tavern.

There was a bar counter, a bartender, servers moving about, and patrons sitting at tables drinking.

But it was clearly different from an ordinary tavern.

Because it was quiet.

There was no clamor, no shouting, and no music. A tranquil atmosphere filled every corner.

It was more like a quiet bar.

The decor was elegant, too. Almost all the furniture was made of dark brown wood with a rich, antique sheen. It was a world apart from the usual taverns in cities and towns.

Of course, there was one other glaring difference: everyone here, servers and patrons alike, wore face coverings in various colors-except red and pink.

There were also far more races here than elsewhere. Besides the usual humans and Dwarves, there were Gnomes, Night Elves, and even Trolls!

The bar was spacious, with few "patrons," so most sat alone at their own tables, drinking without exchanging so much as a glance with anyone else.

There was only one exception.

It was in front of a section of wall to the left of the bar.

Something like a noticeboard hung there, and four or five assassins were standing in front of it.

Perhaps that was the bounty board for full-fledged assassins.

Rhode tugged on Lilia, and they walked over together.

Sure enough, it was covered in rows of writing listing mission targets, bounty amounts, difficulty ratings, and so on.

Mission difficulty was represented by stars. Judging from the board, five stars had to be the hardest, since Rhode saw only one such mission.

It was also listed at the very top.
