But if he had been beguiled by the Lich King, who in turn had the Burning Legion behind him, and there was an even greater conspiracy at work, then everything made sense.
Among the many mages of the Kirin Tor, Kel'Thuzad was one of the most gifted, but also one of the most ambitious.
If someone promised him greater power, his ambition might rob him of his reason, leading him to serve a master he considered more powerful.
"Regardless of who this so-called Lich King is, or whether he has any connection to the Burning Legion, we must remain vigilant and prepare."
Antonidas stopped pacing and addressed everyone.

Whether or not the events Rhode described could happen, the fact remained that Kel'Thuzad was secretly expanding his forces and stirring up trouble.
Their immediate priorities were to find Kel'Thuzad, curb the Cult of the Damned's growth, uproot its strongholds, and stop its destructive activities.
Of course, to be on the safe side, many of those present were probably already eager to hurry back and hide the Book of Medivh somewhere more secure.
