Although it was still early in the morning, Lilia and Sally were already up.

They were preparing for a "duel" outside the tents, surrounded by a ring of mage apprentices, Musket Corps members, and artisans who had also risen early.

Two lovely young women were about to show off their fighting skills. That was certainly worth watching.

Mostly, though, everyone was simply bored.

Rhode had considered how inconvenient it would be to bring several hundred people into Southshore. They would not even have anywhere to sleep at night. So, upon reaching Westpoint Tower, he had ordered them to make camp there while he entered Southshore alone.

It was a sensible arrangement. Their work site was here at Westpoint Tower anyway, so there was no need for a huge crowd to march into Southshore only to come back again.

But an entire night had passed without any news. Bored after waking early, Lilia had sought out Sally for a little "exercise."

Lilia's weapon was, of course, a sword-the razor-sharp Mira's Song.

After learning from so many teachers, she had mastered numerous warrior skills. Nearly every attack she made was steady, precise, and powerful. She truly had become an accomplished warrior.

Sally, meanwhile, was empty-handed.

Magical equipment was not as abundant in this world as it was in the game. Not every spellcaster had a suitable staff or anything of the sort.

Even a mage as powerful as Rhode did not have so much as a staff that could provide light, did he?

But Sally had a shield.

It was not the kind of shield a warrior carried, but a priest skill-Power Word: Shield.

It looked like a thin membrane, yet it could protect her body and prevent her from taking any damage.

It was fortunate that Rhode had helped Sally change
