Rhode had to forcibly stop the Fireball he was casting.

Ugh, if only I'd spent one second less casting and fired it off. That would've been better than letting this guy escape.

Rhode simply hadn't expected Mal'Ganis to vanish using his demonic magic, even while surrounded by so many people.

But how did that spell of his work?

Was it something like a spatial Teleport spell?

Why was Teleport so hard for us mages to learn, yet this damned Dreadlord could just do it?

Just then, Rhode saw Arthas staring silently at the road to the east.

"Your Highness, what's wrong?" Rhode stepped forward and asked.

"I can sense him. He went east." Arthas's gaze was resolute. "By the Holy Light, we must hunt him down. We cannot let such an evil creature roam freely across Lordaeron!"

East? Did he mean Durnholde Keep?

Farther east lay the Arathi Highlands, home to the Kingdom of Stromgarde and its capital, Stromgarde.

"Don't worry, Your Highness. I'll organize a group to investigate to the east," Rhode said. "But for now, shouldn't you get some rest...?"

What Rhode really wanted to say was, I need rest too! I only just got back from Tarren Mill, and I barely had time to eat a bowl of Pandaren Ramen!

"No!" Arthas remained firm. "We must go immediately! I can still sense the demon's presence, but if we wait too long, we may never find his trail again."

So that was it.

Apparently, this demonic "teleportation spell" didn't deliver its caster instantly like a mage's Teleport. It was probably more like some form of concealment or Shadowmeld. Though it allowed rapid movement, it still left traces along the way.

As a paladin who stood against demons and the undead, Arthas was naturally particularly sensitive to those traces,
