"But we need to keep tracking the demon!" Arthas clearly disagreed.

Lieutenant Valokar looked a little surprised. "A demon? We have a demon here?"

Most people who had fought in the war against the Orcs knew of these terrifying, bloodthirsty creatures, even if they had never faced them directly.

"Oh, don't worry. It's only an imp," Rhode said, brushing the question aside for now.

After all, they still had not located Mal'Ganis. There was no need to cause a panic.

Besides, after Nagaz, the Orc Warlock of the Shadow Council, had escaped, he might well have come this way. This was the Syndicate's headquarters, after all, and he had said he was going to find its leader, Duke Falconcrest.

"Then let's go with the lieutenant to that farm first," Rhode said. "If there's been some kind of plague there, it might have something to do with the demon. Perhaps we can find some clues there, too."

Arthas sighed and nodded. "That's our only option."

"Please allow me to lead the way!" Lieutenant Valokar led the cavalry to the front, and the five-person party urged their horses along behind them.

Lieutenant Valokar was quite pleased.

These people were clearly all skilled fighters. Rhode and Arthas had long been famous, and the other young women all looked poised and capable, each with impressive skills of her own.

With their help, the investigation at the farm would surely go smoothly.

Before long, the group reached the turnoff
