Over the next few days, Rhode devoted himself to studying how to make magic equipment.

In fact, making magic equipment was not complicated. It was hardly any more difficult than turning magic herbs into runes.

The principle was simple, too: use runes as an energy source and magically conductive metal as a medium to transmit the mana in magical gemstones to the user.

With all the materials ready, Rhode only needed to fuse the three components with magic and ensure that mana could flow freely in and out.

Some people cared about appearances, so they fashioned their magic equipment into exquisite necklaces, earrings, and the like. Rhode did not care about any of that, so he simply kneaded everything into a lump.

That made him more curious about gemstones of other colors, so he tried a yellow sapphire first.

Now it was finished. The yellow sapphire had become a yellow ball.

Holding it, Rhode thought for a moment, then began casting Fireball.

Of course, he was still inside the house, so he was not actually going to release it. He merely started the "cast bar," then canceled it to see what this new piece of magic equipment did.

But Rhode soon frowned. His body did not seem to have changed at all. He felt none of the mana surge that accompanied an increase in his mana pool.

Did it increase spell power, too? Then how was it any different from a ruby?
