The road to Dun Garok was actually quite easy to travel.
After leaving Durnholde Keep, they could follow the main road south to the T-junction, head east toward the Arathi Highlands for a while, then turn south onto a mountain trail. Following it would bring them within sight of the fortress the Dwarves had built.
After all, humans and Dwarves did trade with each other, so the road had been improved over the past few years to make travel easier for merchants.
Rhode decided to take a straight route instead.
That way, they only needed to head south through a wood and over a small hill, and they would be almost there.
It was clearly a shortcut, but without a proper road, it posed certain dangers, so few people took it.
Lilia was also adamant about taking the shortcut.
Getting there faster was one thing, but more importantly, where was the sense of adventure if they stuck to the main road?
Of course, Rhode had agreed not just for the "adventure." He also figured he might bag some game along the way and treat himself to a better meal.
The Beggar Gang's Musket Corps had been training hard these past two days, and Rhode had given them much of the meat stored in the Magic Tower as a reward. It also helped supplement their diet.
Now that he had a rare chance to go out himself, he deserved to treat his own stomach a little better.
Of course, being in the woods did not mean there were no paths at all.
