During this time, Rhode had not only gotten his combat arcane golem mostly working, but had also improved the reconnaissance version along the way.
The inspiration had come from the combat version as well: combining two spell models to give it both an arcane golem's mobility and Glamour's concealment.
However, once he had shrunk the arcane golem to roughly the size of two fingers, he simply could not make it any smaller.
That was fine. With such a tiny body and Glamour on top of it, even a decent mage would struggle to see through its disguise without looking closely.
Rhode had even given it a new name: Reconnaissance Robot Type 007.
The reason was simple. By the time this reconnaissance robot had taken its final form, it had gone through about seven versions.
The final Type 007 not only had excellent concealment, but also first-rate information transmission. Its range could cover pretty much the entire city surrounding Durnholde Keep without any trouble.
A mage's summons all had certain range limits. For example, if you placed an Alarm Ward in Southshore, you could not expect it to keep working after you ran all the way to Stormwind City.
Arcane golems were the same. They would disappear once they moved a certain distance away from their master.
The Reconnaissance Robot Type 007, however, could remain active over longer distances and transmit everything it heard and saw to Rhode in real time.
Rhode had now placed it in Blackmoore's reception room to keep an eye on him for a while.
Although Blackmoore's reasons for sending Rhode to attack Caer Darrow all made sense, Rhode still had a nagging feeling that something was wrong.
After leaving, Rhode did not go straight back to the Magic Tower. Instead, he headed over to Thrall first.
