Silence lingered within the Nine Treasures Glazed Tile Sect. Ning Shu, its sect master, did not blindly worship a figure from ten thousand years ago the way Shrek Academy did, but neither did she have any reason to hate or resent him.
Just then, steady footsteps sounded outside the hall.
The footsteps stopped at the entrance, and an aged yet powerful voice came from outside. "Sect Master, I hear we have an honored guest?"
As the words fell, the doors were pushed halfway open.
Dugu Bo's gaze settled on him, his eyes narrowing slightly. A rank-95 Titled Douluo might once have warranted his serious attention, but his horizons had long since broadened. He had seen quite a few who had reached level 100.
He himself had stood at Level 99 for a long time. A rank-95 Titled Douluo before him could hardly stir much of a ripple.
The elderly man paused as he stepped over the threshold. He, too, was secretly sizing up this "Mr. Dugu" who had arrived so suddenly.
The visitor's aura was extremely restrained, so restrained that it was almost imperceptible, as though he were an ordinary person without any cultivation.
It was not that he had never seen experts conceal their auras, but there were only two possibilities when someone concealed theirs so thoroughly that he could not see through them at all: either they had cultivated an exceptionally sophisticated concealment art, or their cultivation far surpassed his own.
He sat in a chair off to the side, his posture relaxed, but his eyes never left Dugu Bo.
"The one still hiding in the shadows should come out as well. I bear your Nine Treasures Glazed Tile Sect no ill will," Dugu Bo said casually.
Yet those words startled both Ning Shu and the elderly man.
