Background / History

Arrival and fabricated rebirth

Ye Fan arrives from another world with the ability to project chosen thoughts directly into other beings’ minds. Before entering the academy, he uses it to hunt animals, support himself, and earn a small profit. He and Tang San initially know each other only through occasional encounters in the mountains 1.

At the village awakening ceremony, he deliberately presents himself to Tang San as someone reliving a previous lifetime. His projected “memories” identify Tang San’s Twin Martial Souls and Innate Full Soul Power, convincing Tang San that Ye Fan possesses knowledge of future opportunities. This supposed rebirth is a deception, not an established previous life 1.

Nuoding Academy

Ye Fan enters Nuoding Academy with Tang San and Old Jack. When a gate guard rejects their certificates, he immobilizes the guard with “Bind.” He subsequently refuses Yu Xiaogang’s overture to become his teacher, challenging the man to disclose his Soul Power rank instead 2 3.

In Dorm Seven, Ye Fan defeats Xiao Wu through restraint but allows her to remain the dorm boss. Soul Hunting Forest

Ye Fan obtains a forest-entry permit through Spirit Hall and travels with Xiao Wu, relying on her knowledge of Soul Beasts and fighting ability. He eventually joins Tang San and Yu Xiaogang after igniting Luo Sanpao’s hypnotic gas with a flaming arrow, scattering the Gale Demon Wolves surrounding them 12 15 18.

He deliberately steers Tang San away from the Mandala Snake and toward a Demon Vine Tree. His intention is to introduce negative attributes into Blue Silver Grass and obstruct Tang San’s eventual Blue Silver Emperor awakening. Tang Hao confronts Ye Fan and Xiao Wu in an alley and orders them not to join Spirit Hall. Ye Fan’s initial attempt to prohibit oppressive pressure is broken, injuring him. He nevertheless shields Xiao Wu and covertly uses Prohibition to trigger Tang Hao’s severe hidden injuries, forcing him to withdraw 29 30.

Journey to Suotuo City

Six years later, Ye Fan and Xiao Wu arrive in Suotuo City with Tang San to seek admission to Shrek. Ye Fan views the move as bringing him closer to obtaining immortal herbs.
