This time, all three of them got serious.
Xiao Wu and Hu Liena swapped hairstyles and clothes.
Zhu Zhuqing put her long hair into a ponytail and changed into Hu Liena's dress.
Inside the Game Domain, swapping outfits and hairstyles took only the blink of an eye.
Twenty seconds later, Qin Chuan began feeling around.
He first went over to the cabinet, reached into the gap beside it, and felt someone there.
A bodycon skirt, ear-length hair, and a faint fragrance. Qin Chuan also felt her face.
Her skin was smooth. Her face was neither round and babyish nor narrow and cold-looking.
[Clown Dwarf] called out from midair, "The player has violated the rules by touching a face. One yellow-card warning!"
"Sorry, I forgot." Qin Chuan withdrew his hand.
[Clown Dwarf]: "Participants may choose new hiding places."
After a flurry of footsteps, the room fell quiet again.
Qin Chuan began feeling around once more.
This time, he found someone on the table. His hands touched her shoulders and the fabric of a bodycon skirt. He felt a little farther down and found her waistline.
Then he moved a little higher.
Qin Chuan felt sure he had it.
This bust size was in an entirely different league from Hu Liena's. Even though she was wearing a bodycon skirt, she definitely wasn't Hu Liena.
"It's Zhu Zhuqing!"
He pulled off the black cloth and looked.
Xiao Wu sat on the table, smiling at him.
Xiao Wu and Hu Liena had swapped their entire outfits. And there was a bulge inside Xiao Wu's clothes that didn't look quite right.
Qin Chuan stared blankly for two seconds.
"Wait, Xiao Wu, when did you get so big?"
All three girls burst out laughing.
Xiao Wu pulled two foam pads out of her clothes and waved them in her hands.
"Because we're allowed to use props."
[Clown Dwarf] explained from beside them, "That's right. Aside from your faces, you can change any aspect of your appearance."
Hu Liena pointed at Qin Chuan. "Qin Chuan, you lecher! Where were you touching?"
Qin Chuan said, "I couldn't see a thing. It wasn't on purpose."
Zhu Zhuqing added from the side, "That's psychological warfare."
"Let's go again! This is so much fun. We want to keep playing." Xiao Wu tossed the foam pads onto the table and clapped her hands.
Looking at the three eager girls, Qin Chuan thought, Fine, play to your hearts' content. As long as you're happy. The happier you are, the stronger my fifth Soul Skill becomes.
And so, the four of them played in the secluded training chamber for over an hour.
They switched the blindfolded player many times along the way.
When Hu Liena wore the blindfold, she mistook both Zhu Zhuqing and Xiao Wu for Qin Chuan.
When Zhu Zhuqing wore it, she identified Qin Chuan at once, because he was the only one who still smelled of the ointment from yesterday's match.
Xiao Wu was the funniest when she wore the blindfold. She walked straight into a wall at the very start, leaving a red mark on her forehead.
After over an hour, all four were a little out of breath.
Just then, a Soul Ring on Xiao Wu flashed.
Hum.
A pulse of Soul Power spread out from her body, surged out of the chamber, and struck the stone walls before rebounding.
Xiao Wu looked down at her hands, stunned.
"I leveled up!"
She had gone from level forty-one to level forty-two.
She looked up at Qin Chuan, her eyes wide.
"Oh my god, I really leveled up!"
Zhu Zhuqing felt it too. She sat cross-legged and checked the Soul Power within her.
"I've reached late level forty-two."
Hu Liena checked hers as well. "I've reached late level fifty-one too."
The three exchanged glances, then all looked at Qin Chuan.
Qin Chuan leaned against the wall and smiled.
"All right, our hour of game time is up. Let's stop here. Come play at my shop next time. The effects will be even better."
"Okay!" all three answered in unison.
Early the next morning, the three-story stone-brick building at the corner of South Street in Spirit City looked brand-new.
Ghost Douluo had worked efficiently, gathering thirty of the finest craftsmen overnight to renovate the place item by item according to Qin Chuan's booklet.
The storefront had received a fresh coat of paint, and a black sign with gold lettering hung above the main entrance.
[Douluo Game Hall]
Chrysanthemum Douluo had written the five large characters himself. His calligraphy was quite beautiful, but he had signed it "Yue Guan," leaving people momentarily puzzled before remembering that Chrysanthemum Douluo's name was Yue Guan.
Qin Chuan arrived bright and early.
He spent all the points he had saved over the past two days in the System Shop, exchanging them for a pile of game props and equipment that he packed into the three-story building.
The first floor mainly housed machines.
A row of claw machines stood along the wall, their transparent cabinets stuffed with all sorts of plush toys: rabbits, cats, and even one that looked like [Clown Dwarf].
Beside them stood slot machines. Pull the lever, and three reels spun with a clatter. Match them up, and Gold Soul Coins dropped out.
Farther along were horse-racing machines, with eight little wooden horses running along tracks. Anyone who correctly bet on both first and second place won a prize.
In the corner, an entire wall was lined with neatly stacked, colorful mystery boxes.
Each mystery box contained a random item, ranging from ordinary Soul Power recovery pills to rare hundred-year medicinal herbs. It all came down to luck.
The second floor was the indoor game area.
Qin Chuan used his points to unlock access to two games: [Object Hide-and-Seek] and [Blindfolded Tag].
Two large rooms had also been partitioned off on the second floor. One had a sign reading "Otherworld Survival" on its door, but the door was locked, with a notice beside it: not yet open.
The other was labeled [To be decided].
Qin Chuan checked the points shop. Unlocking [Otherworld Survival] required 100,000 points and a personal level of at least 58. The highest clear rewards were a Hundred Thousand Year Soul Ring and a Hundred Thousand Year Soul Bone.
Level 58? That shouldn't take too long. Qin Chuan made a mental note, thinking that apparently, unlocking some games also required a certain level of strength.
The third floor was even more outrageous.
Unlocking a large-scale immersive venue required anywhere from 1,000,000 to 10,000,000 points, with level requirements ranging from 81 to 91.
Players also had to wear VR headsets.
Qin Chuan browsed the shop for quite a while and discovered that the cost of these things was terrifyingly high.
Each VR headset alone cost 10,000 points, and players also needed matching cosplay outfits to enter a scenario.
The cosplay outfits were even more absurdly priced. The cheapest maid outfit cost 10,000 points, the One Piece series cost 50,000, the Naruto series cost 50,000, and the Dragon Ball series cost 100,000.
Qin Chuan glanced at the clear instructions for the third-floor scenarios and nearly popped his eyes out.
Clear them nine times to receive [Divinity].
He turned it over in his mind.
Divinity? Wasn't that the Nine Trials of a God?
The scenarios in the System Shop were actually linked to the Divine Realm's trials?
Qin Chuan took a deep breath and locked the third-floor door.
This floor would stay closed for now. He lacked both the points and the strength, and there was no rush.
Back on the first floor, Qin Chuan hung up the rules for every game.
Beside each machine were notices listing its price and rewards. Every game required Gold Soul Coins to play.
The system worked like this: whenever a customer spent Gold Soul Coins, Qin Chuan received an equal number of bonus points, while also collecting points through emotional value.
In other words, the more people came to play and the happier they were, the faster Qin Chuan's points would grow.
In addition, whenever customers spent Gold Soul Coins, the host also received [Soul Power points] as a reward!
It was a positive cycle.
Everything was ready.
When the doors opened, a long line had already formed outside.
Word had spread as soon as yesterday's match ended. A hundred thousand people had heard Qin Chuan say, "Playing games can increase your Soul Power." One told ten, and ten told a hundred, until all of Spirit City was discussing it.
The line stretched for two streets. Those at the front stood on tiptoe to peer inside, while those at the back craned their necks and asked what was happening up ahead.
Yan and Xie Yue stood at the entrance, one maintaining order and the other collecting money.
Yan wore a new outfit that day: a dark red martial ensemble with Spirit Hall's emblem embroidered on the chest.
Standing at the entrance, his bronze skin and burly muscles made him look quite intimidating.
"Line up, line up! One at a time!" Yan shouted at the top of his lungs.
