Xiao Wu came out of the room with reddened eyes and leaned into Ji Hongchen's arms like a little bird seeking shelter, looking so vulnerable it tugged at the heart.
Ning Rongrong, however, gave a cold snort.
She looked at Xiao Wu with jealousy written all over her face.
Hmph! That lecherous rabbit actually hooked up with my pure, innocent fiancé. She's practically courting death.
Just then.
The door was pushed open.
Two figures approached, their gazes fixed on Xiao Wu in Ji Hongchen's arms, their eyes burning as though they were looking at a priceless treasure.
Before they could speak.
Ji Hongchen spoke first. "Grandpa Jian, Senior Dugu, I already know Xiao Wu's true identity. Please don't attack her."
"What? You know this rabbit's identity!"
Dugu Bo cried out in surprise.
They had come this time intending to imprison Xiao Wu, then kill her when Ji Hongchen needed his ninth soul ring so he could absorb it.
They had never expected Ji Hongchen to find out beforehand.
Ji Hongchen nodded. "Xiao Wu is my friend. Besides, even as a hundred thousand year soul ring, she wouldn't suit me, so let's drop this matter."
"But..."
Jian Chen Xin hesitated beside him.
This was a genuine hundred-thousand-year soul beast! Wouldn't it be too much of a waste to give her up?
"Grandpa Jian, I have my own plans. Besides, I'm still a long way from becoming a Titled Douluo. Anything is possible," Ji Hongchen said with a smile.
Hearing that, Jian Chen Xin said no more.
"Very well. Hongchen, you have your own plans, and we respect your choice. But Xiao Wu's identity must never be exposed!"
Ji Hongchen was, after all, the future of their Nine Treasures Glazed Tile Sect. Since he had his own plans, they wouldn't interfere too much as his elders.
What could they do? He was their own child; all they could do was spoil him.
Xiao Wu clutched the hem of her skirt, her whole body trembling with fear. She had never imagined that Ji Hongchen had two Titled Douluos protecting him.
"It's all right now, Xiao Wu."
Ji Hongchen patted Xiao Wu's back and comforted her softly.
Xiao Wu nodded.
Her breathing was still a little rapid, and her lingering fright made her look especially pitiful. "I'm still scared. Can you hold me a little longer, Brother Hongchen?"
"Wait!"
Ning Rongrong walked straight up to Xiao Wu. "Let me hold you. Brother Hongchen still needs to cultivate. We can't hold him up."
Xiao Wu buried her head in Ji Hongchen's arms.
Ning Rongrong stamped her feet in anger.
Helpless, Ji Hongchen pulled Ning Rongrong over as well and tossed both girls onto the bed.
Watching this, Dugu Bo glanced at Jian Chen Xin. The two exchanged knowing smiles and quietly left the room.
The next day.
When Ji Hongchen woke up, he found two adorable little girls sleeping soundly in his arms. Their nostrils fluttered slightly, and the fresh fragrance unique to young girls wafted toward him.
"Ah, I can look, but I can't taste."
Ji Hongchen let out a soft sigh.
He really had it rough. They were right within reach, yet he couldn't touch them. The feeling practically made him want to explode.
He felt he needed to explore some new ways to play.
Otherwise, enduring this day after day would be too much.
The two girls didn't wake until noon. They exchanged glances, their eyes holding a little less hostility, perhaps because they would have to shoulder the same gun.
"How about we go shopping today?"
"Sure!"
The two answered in unison.
Meanwhile, at Shrek Academy.
In the student dormitory.
Looking at Ma Hongjun, whose whole body was burning hot, Dai Mubai couldn't help speaking up.
"Fatty, stop getting ready and hurry up."
"Aren't you afraid your evil fire will burn you to death?"
Ma Hongjun chuckled and straightened his clothes.
"Boss Dai, I don't have your good looks."
"How can I go without dressing up properly?"
Dai Mubai rolled his eyes at Ma Hongjun and couldn't help complaining. "We're going to a brothel, not picking up girls. Who are you dressing up for?"
Ma Hongjun gave a helpless smile.
"Ah, what can I do? Those women charge so much. The few gold soul coins Spirit Hall gives me aren't nearly enough to vent my fire."
Dai Mubai was speechless.
"What about that girlfriend of yours?"
Ma Hongjun answered impatiently, "Hmph, that woman's a real piece of work. Wasn't I just a little more diligent? She said I was too heavy and dumped me."
"Just a commoner. She doesn't have the fortune to enjoy it."
In Ma Hongjun's eyes, as a genius with innate ninth-level soul power, being with these commoners was already beneath his station.
Yet they refused to appreciate it.
They simply didn't know what was good for them. Getting pregnant with his child would have been a blessing for those commoners.
"All right, let's go."
Soon, the tiger-and-phoenix pair of whoremongers headed for Suotuo City with their arms around each other's shoulders.
As one of the Ten Great Main Cities.
The girls in Suotuo City were on an entirely different level from those elsewhere. Though they cost a little more, the pleasure was genuinely worth it.
After a morning's indulgence.
Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun emerged from a pleasure house, looking thoroughly satisfied.
"Ah, too bad I'm out of money."
Ma Hongjun sighed.
Dai Mubai rolled his eyes at him. "If you're broke, use your hand. That little silkworm pupa of yours hardly makes a difference whether you use it or not."
Ma Hongjun rolled his eyes and patted his huge belly. "That's just because the fat's too thick. I've actually got plenty of power."
Dai Mubai gave a few dry laughs.
Ma Hongjun's only real talent was using his weight to press people down until they couldn't breathe.
As though sensing something unusual.
Ma Hongjun turned his gaze and spotted three figures not far away.
The one in the lead was dressed entirely in white.
He had sword-like brows and star-bright eyes, with an elegant, dashing bearing.
More than that, he had a beauty in each arm. One looked like a heavenly goddess, her beauty untainted by the mortal world; the other was petite and sweet, playful and adorable.
"Damn, that brat's got all the luck."
Ma Hongjun cursed under his breath. What he envied most were handsome men like this, and Ji Hongchen was even better-looking than that bitch-faced Oscar.
Dai Mubai snorted coldly. "Probably some minor noble from one family or another. Should we go scare him and teach him a lesson?"
As the saying went, anyone who didn't dare stir up trouble was a mediocrity.
That was a lesson taught at their Shrek Academy. Dai Mubai didn't think he was doing anything wrong either. After all, how much strength could a minor noble have?
Ma Hongjun sneered inwardly and drifted closer to Ji Hongchen as though by chance.
"Tsk, these two chicks are pretty...!"
Smack!
The next instant, before Ma Hongjun could finish speaking, a slap landed on his face.
Ma Hongjun was stunned.
Feeling the burning pain on his face, Ma Hongjun flew into a rage. "You dare hit me? Do you know who I am?"
"Trash."
Ji Hongchen slapped him again, sending Ma Hongjun flying.
Ma Hongjun's already plump cheeks swelled even further.
He looked like a pig.
Sensing something was wrong, Dai Mubai hurried over. Looking at Ma Hongjun's face, swollen like a pig's head, he frowned and turned toward Ji Hongchen.
"Damn it, you're asking for death!"
Dai Mubai roared in fury.
Three soul rings lit up around him, two yellow and one purple.
Ma Hongjun also stood up furiously, flames rising from his body along with wings that radiated an evil aura.
"Damn it, brat, you dare hit me? I'll flay you alive today!"
"First Soul Skill, Phoenix Fire Line!"
Ji Hongchen snorted coldly and casually waved his hand. The raging flames were extinguished with that motion, without doing him the slightest harm.
"Sorry, my constitution grants fire immunity!"
