Zhang Qingshan had never expected that, after he said the danger was increasing, Ye Han would start talking about keyholes.
For a moment, he failed to follow.
Ye Han pointed at the relief of a winged Demon Beast on the enormous Metal Gate and said, "Senior Brother Zhang, look. There are two small holes in this Demon Beast's eyes, right in the middle of the gate. Judging by their size, these two keys should fit perfectly."
As he spoke, Spirit Light flashed in Ye Han's hand, and two tiny keys appeared. One had fallen from the mouth of the Metal Puppet they had defeated at the entrance; Ye Han had obtained the other in the cave leading into the Burial Ground of the Immortals.
Hearing Ye Han's explanation, Zhang Qingshan carefully examined the spot he indicated. Sure enough, each eye of the lifelike, swooping winged Demon Beast contained a small hole. They sat side by side, one on each side of the Metal Gate, and appeared to be just the right size for the keys.
Ye Han also realized what Zhang Qingshan had meant when he said the danger was increasing.
He sensed that the white lights, which had been flickering between bright and dim all this time, had stopped flickering and become steady.
This meant the formation overhead in the passage was replenishing its depleted Formation Power.
Just what level of formation master had set this up, to create a formation that could replenish its own Formation Power?
However, Ye Han also suspected there was a reason the formation had bombarded them with Purple-Gold Lightning for so long-more than ten full days...
Most likely, this formation had been storing Formation Power for hundreds or thousands of years. Only after accumulating it for so long had it become that formidable.
