But Messiah gritted her teeth and stood her ground. She already knew that the soul within that body had long since died. The one occupying the First Apostle's body now was no longer the original man, but a true Evil God.
Surging mental power continued to flow into Lynn's soul.
And finally, in the next instant-
Lynn abruptly cut off her transfer and shoved away the hand she held out to support him. He staggered to his feet, panting heavily.
"That should do it. Enough for me to cast one more curse. Go. Get out of this godforsaken place right now. If I win, we might see each other again soon. If I lose, at least you'll get to live a little longer."
Messiah gritted her teeth. "You just finished using me, and now you're kicking me out?!"
Lynn slammed the Curse Eye into his eye socket and gasped:
"That's right. I'm a bastard who pulls out and stops caring, so get the hell out before I lose my temper. Go!"
Furious, Messiah still wanted to argue.
Bang-
A shot struck beside her feet.
Lynn stood unsteadily with the Revolver aimed at the ground beside her feet. "Do I have to say it again? I'll count to three. If you don't get the hell out, I'll shoot you in the head. Now move!"
Messiah's face turned livid with anger. "I don't believe you'd actually dare..."
Bang-
A bullet skimmed past her forehead.
Before Messiah could react, Lynn mercilessly raised his head again, aimed straight at hers, and fired another shot.
He's insane!
This guy has gone insane!
Trembling with rage, Messiah immediately put distance between them. She really hadn't misjudged him at all. This guy was plainly a devil from Hell, and not a single devil could ever be trusted.
