The Witcher froze.
You performed one C-section, and now you think you can scrape my bones to treat my wounds?!
He really wanted to swallow the brat in front of him alive.
But in the end, he held himself back.
Because, admittedly...
Though the process had been anything but pleasant, this bastard really had healed his injuries.
He finally took another deep breath, forcibly suppressing the frantic rage inside him.
He set Lynn down.
Staring sternly into his eyes, he ground his teeth, closed his eyes, and said in a low voice, "Remember this. If I hear any rumors out there about me passing out here, you should know what the consequences will be! Understood?"
[Danger level: 99%]
Lynn stared wide-eyed and bobbed his head like a bobblehead.
"Rest assured, our customers' privacy is our lifeblood!"
[Danger level: 10%]
The Witcher took a deep breath, put on his hat, then pulled a coin pouch from inside his coat and said through gritted teeth:
"How much for the surgery? Name your price."
I'm never coming back to this damn rip-off joint!
It's too draining!
Lynn immediately shook his head. With a sincere, sweet smile, he pressed his palms together and said, "No need to pay. Consider this surgery a treat from a fellow human. Just drop by our little shop more often."
[Ding! You have completed the quest. You received skeleton coins x500.]
Drop by, my ass!
The Witcher took a deep breath, held his gun, and closed his eyes.
"Don't think sucking up to me will make me forget what just happened. Being a fellow human won't change that!"
Naturally, he had seen straight through Lynn's plan to latch onto him as a powerful protector.
But he had always worked alone.
Besides, he absolutely did not want to bring along a brat who would constantly remind him of this painful experience.
He glanced at Lynn.
He put on his clothes and hat, then said in a low voice:
"And I'd advise you not to stay here too long. Creatures like us humans will end up in a monster's belly sooner or later if we don't have some way to keep ourselves alive!"
Seeing this, Lynn immediately realized his chance had come.
Although this Witcher kept threatening to shoot him at the drop of a hat...
It was clear enough.
When it came to his fellow humans, this Witcher was actually quite decent.
At least he hadn't actually shot him.
"Then how can I leave this world?" Lynn immediately asked for guidance.
"To tell you the truth, I stumbled into this world by accident. Aside from this little shop, I know nothing about the world outside!"
The Witcher tidied his glossy black hair and sneered.
"Heh. You're lucky. Plenty of people like you fall here from all sorts of worlds, but most of them end up as food for those monsters."
"All I can tell you is this."
"This is the lowest level of the City of Sin. If you want to leave this world, your only option besides death is to become strong enough."
"Only the strong have even the slightest chance of escaping this place."
He spun the revolver in his hand and casually nudged up the brim of his hat with its muzzle.
Lynn: "..."
All right.
That was as good as saying nothing.
Still, he had finally gained a crucial piece of information.
Wandering Soul Alley, where he lived, was an area at the bottom of a place called the [City of Sin].
Lynn murmured, "Doesn't that mean I'll never be able to leave this hellhole? Every time I see those monsters, I'm scared to death..."
Hang on!
The Witcher ground his teeth, the corners of his eyes twitching wildly.
Judging by that treatment of yours, shouldn't the monsters here be scared to death of you instead?!
For fuck's sake.
He gave Lynn an indifferent glance and said:
"Enough chit-chat. I believe in fair trade. Since you healed my injuries, I naturally can't shortchange you. If you don't want coins, take a look and see if there's anything valuable on me."
"Take whatever you like."
He spread his arms, fully demonstrating the generosity of a Witcher.
Lynn paused.
His gaze instantly landed on the two metallic revolvers hanging from the Witcher's belt.
[Witcher Revolver (cursed): Pale Witch Hunter] [Quality]: Legendary [Capacity]: Sixfold Witcher Rounds (automatically replenished) [Description]: One of two witch-hunting guns brought from the World Above by the Witcher Ocalos. Deals extremely high damage to evil spirits, vampires, demons, aberrants, and eldritch beings.
Smack-
Lynn grabbed one of the guns.
Smack-
The Witcher grabbed his wrist.
An eerie silence fell over them.
The corners of the Witcher's eyes lifted slightly as he sneered, "You've got a damn good eye. You went straight for the most expensive thing I've got!"
Lynn said earnestly, "I think these two guns look really cool."
The Witcher sneered. "Of course they do. Just look at whose guns they are. Could they possibly look ugly?"
"..."
"Do you often use these two guns to hunt those monsters?"
"No. I've never killed a single monster with them," the Witcher said indifferently.
"Why?"
Swish, swish, swish-
With a light flick of his fingers, the Witcher spun both revolvers in his hands.
Then, in an instant, both pitch-black muzzles were aimed at Lynn's head.
Lynn: "?!!!"
The Witcher's expression remained impassive as he pulled the triggers.
Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang-
Gunshots rang out one after another, twelve in all.
Twelve bullets shot out with them.
Lynn stood there with a (꒪Д꒪) expression, while the bullets traced the outline of his head on the wall behind him.
"Uh..."
The Witcher gently blew away the black smoke drifting from the muzzles and said indifferently:
"They're certainly cool enough, but these two guns have one fatal flaw. I imagine you just saw it."
Lynn said with a (꒪Д꒪) expression, "B-body outlining?"
The Witcher sneered. "Body outlining? That's a vivid description. To be precise, these two guns were cursed. You can think of it this way: no matter what angle you fire from, your bullets will never hit the target. So..."
He casually holstered the guns. "Aside from showing off with them, all you can really do is show off with them."
"..."
"..."
A brief silence followed.
Lynn said blankly, "Then I don't want them..."
Lynn turned to leave.
Bang, bang, bang, bang-
Bullets struck the floor at his feet, making Lynn jump with an (ΩДΩ) expression and quickly flatten himself against the wall.
Holding the smoking guns, the Witcher said indifferently:
"You've already picked them, so you can't refuse them now. Fairness and keeping my word matter most to me. If you refuse, you're looking down on me. So I'll give you one more chance. Do you want them or not?"
Lynn shouted wide-eyed, "Yes!"
The corners of the Witcher's stubbled mouth lifted slightly.
He spun the guns with a flourish.
Then slapped them down on the operating table.
"That's a fellow human for you. Truly generous. If the curse hadn't stopped me from throwing these two guns away myself, I'd have ditched them ages ago. I'm very pleased that you can take them off my hands now."
Lynn paled in shock. "What do you mean?"
The Witcher said with a faint smile, "Because of the curse, I can't get rid of these guns. A fellow human has to show a strong desire to have them, and then they can only be handed over through a fair trade."
"But as you know, humans are far too rare in this hellhole. Finding someone to take them off my hands isn't exactly easy."
[Witcher affinity +20]
His fucking affinity actually went up!
Lynn wore a (〝▼皿▼) expression.
The Witcher pressed down his hat, turned toward the lobby, and said slowly:
"Since you've done me such a big favor, I can give you some information while I'm at it. Tonight, no matter what you hear outside, don't try to go out, and don't open the door."
"Some pretty formidable fellows have come to your neighborhood..."
At those words, Lynn froze.
Because his teacher had given him the same warning.
Lynn immediately asked, "What kind of monsters?"
The Witcher sneered. "I think you're better off not knowing. And one more thing..."
"If you survive until tomorrow, I think we'll meet again. Heh heh."
The next moment...
The Witcher's body turned into a wisp of smoke and slowly vanished before Lynn's eyes.
