The Sin Lord scoffed. "Heh, you really are a silver-tongued fellow. But you said it yourself: Chaos Creatures are the least trustworthy beings. How can I be sure you won't turn around and kill me after you've killed the Flesh Dominator?"
Lynn said softly:
"You don't need to worry about that. If you're truly willing to withdraw, I can give you a contract. Neither I nor any of Dark Night City's Origins will come after you."
"And you'll have a favor from me as well. Since you've looked into me, you should have heard that I can suppress and weaken the curses inside you to a certain extent. I can offer you a spot for that, too. What do you say?"
The Sin Lord narrowed her eyes and fell silent.
Lynn said gently:
"There's no need to deliberate so much, my vampire lady. Sign it, and we'll both have a guarantee. Why get yourself mixed up in this mess?"
He held out his hand.
He retrieved the parchment contract he had prepared earlier from his system space.
Its terms were exactly as Lynn had just described: as long as she withdrew from this conflict, none of Dark Night City's creatures would harm her or her Chosen in any way. The contract contained soul-binding restrictions and safeguards to ensure that both parties complied completely.
"Lady Sin Lord!!"
The Plague Doctors aboard the two enormous Leviathans all paled.
Dead silence surrounded them.
The atmosphere grew unbearably suffocating.
At last, the Sin Lord accepted the contract. Her eyes narrowed, her expression uncertain. Clearly, Lynn's words were no small temptation to her.
Indeed.
She was different from the Mechanical Church. She had no grudge against Dark Night City to begin with, nor did she have to worry that their downfall would leave her vulnerable.
