At those words, something stirred in Lynn's heart.
He was not surprised that Aivier knew about Ether. She might even know more than he did.
And what she had just said essentially confirmed that the Forger of that defense line more than two thousand years ago had come from outside this dream, just like Ether.
That only made things more bewildering.
"Would the awakening of that calamity also have a devastating impact on the world outside the dream?"
Lynn asked, narrowing his eyes.
Aivier shook her head and said,
"I can't answer that question. I can only make some basic guesses based on the information we have, and I can't guarantee their accuracy or reliability."
There was just one reason.
If people from the Outer Cosmos really could descend into the Sleeper's dream through special means,
then why had they never appeared throughout the countless cycles of the past, only to descend into this universe on this one occasion-and more than one of them, at that?
More importantly,
this was also the only cycle in which the Sleeper's true form, which represented chaos, had fused with the Firstborn, who represented order.
Did that not give them reason to speculate?
Perhaps it was precisely this development that had broken the established cycle, making the Sleeper's awakening an impending certainty. And perhaps that was why, at some point, certain people outside this dream world had used special means to descend into the dream world they inhabited, seeking to stop the Sleeper from awakening.
They could not be certain.
But it was indeed the most plausible conjecture. At least it held up logically.
But if that really was the case, were those outsiders working together? Did they actually want to stop that calamity from awakening, or did they have other motives?
Lynn did
