The second time rift!
The instant Lynn saw it, he understood. But this time, he wasn't waging a time war by traveling through time, so he couldn't receive any prompts from the system.
He shot upward, returning to Aivier's back, and shouted:
"Aivier! Go back! There's a second wave!"
Aivier had already noticed what was happening at the Castle. Without hesitation, she soared into the sky, spread her wings, and raced back the way they had come at full speed.
Firstborn power blazed around Lynn like a great sun.
They turned back.
But just as Lynn gathered his strength, preparing for the battle to come-
Something suddenly changed.
The instant the figure at the Castle shattered the gate in its deepest reaches with a thrust of his lance, the Blood Moon overhead abruptly erupted with a blinding crimson halo, bathing the entire land.
The Red Moon hung high above, and in an instant, it seemed that everything had fallen silent.
The wind no longer raged. Aivier froze in place, and Lynn's eyes seemed to become a tranquil lake, unable to stir another ripple.
Everything stood still.
It was as though even their wills had come to a halt beneath the Blood Moon.
Humm-
It was like someone had pulled a string taut inside his mind. His vision went black, and everything around him blurred like ripples in water, then faded.
Whoosh-
Lynn's eyes snapped open on Aivier's back, his pupils contracting and dilating violently.
The scene before him came into focus once more. The Blood Moon still hung overhead, and blood and corpses littered the ground.
But almost immediately, they realized that their position had changed. They were no longer on their way to the Castle. Instead, they had returned to the area where they had first entered
