Blood-Robed Evil Spirit: "(Grinding teeth)!"
[Blood Doll]: "Queen, it's all up to you! I suggest charging straight down, grabbing him by the neck, beating him up, and then cutting his head off!"
[Skeleton Demon]: "Exactly! Don't give him a chance to open his mouth. Just lop it off and eliminate any future trouble!"
[Long-Haired Ghost]: "(ó﹏ò。), wouldn't that be a little rude?"
[Everyone]: "???"
[Long-Haired Ghost]: "⊙﹏⊙||| Uh, I was just saying..."
[Evil Spirit Queen]: "Don't worry. Wait for my good news. By this time tomorrow, his head will be sitting in a corner of my house as my daughter's chamber pot!"
With that, the Blood-Robed Evil Spirit quickly shut off the viewing mirror and narrowed her eyes.
Whoosh-
Tentacle after tentacle sprouted wildly from her body. Gritting her teeth, she instantly dissolved into a vast pool of scarlet blood, which gushed through the floor toward the first floor.
In an instant.
The candle flames on the first floor began flickering wildly.
Drop after drop of thick blood dripped from the ceiling and splattered onto the floor.
In an instant.
The thick blood began gathering together, then took the form of the Blood-Robed Evil Spirit, her face split with cracks.
She whipped her gaze around.
But aside from her ghost servant, who was crouched in a corner and trembling, Lynn was nowhere to be seen.
"Where's that brat?" the Blood-Robed Evil Spirit asked through gritted teeth.
Her gaze immediately fell on her ghost servant.
The ghost blankly pointed at the wooden door leading to the corridor and said:
"Master, he said he'd gotten a little tired of waiting, so he wanted to find you himself. He just opened the door and went to the backyard..."
"That little bastard!!"
Gritting her teeth, the Blood-Robed Evil Spirit instantly transformed into a twisted, shrieking specter and hurtled toward the door.
She charged all the way to the backyard.
She swiftly searched several rooms.
But she couldn't find Lynn anywhere.
Then, in the next moment, her gaze abruptly landed on a dark figure passing the window of the second-floor attic.
Her pupils instantly contracted.
"That bastard... he snuck into my bedroom?!"
The Blood-Robed Evil Spirit flew into a rage.
The next moment.
She leaped up, instantly reaching the window, and flung it open with a whoosh.
Then she caught sight of something that completely shattered her composure.
There in the second-floor bedroom, Lynn was standing beside the bed, cradling the adorable baby, who was now awake and wide-eyed. He was rubbing her little ears, his face all (❁´◡`❁).
The Blood-Robed Evil Spirit was instantly stunned.
"Let go of my daughter!!"
With a piercing howl, the Blood-Robed Evil Spirit erupted in fury. Every tentacle on her body shot out like an icicle, surrounding Lynn and pointing straight at him.
Lynn instantly snapped out of his reverie. His gaze fell on the furious woman, and he tapped his monocle with a smile.
"Ma'am, this is hardly how you should treat a guest. You said you'd invite me to dinner tonight, but downstairs, all I got was a helping of fright. I didn't even get to see you."
He lifted the adorable baby and sighed.
"It's truly disheartening."
The Blood-Robed Evil Spirit immediately sneered. "Stop pretending to be a good person in front of me. I already know what you did to my daughter. What? Still trying to fool me with that nonsense from earlier today?"
"You were obviously the one who tampered with my daughter, yet you claimed it was a manifestation of the truth, kindness, and beauty in my heart! I'd love nothing more than to tear your mouth apart right now!"
Lynn knew.
In a situation like this, he absolutely couldn't let her dictate the conversation.
Otherwise, even a hundred mouths wouldn't be enough to explain himself.
Lynn adjusted his monocle and said calmly, "Ma'am, I don't care what you know, but I can guarantee that I haven't told you a single lie. If I've had even the slightest intention of deceiving you..."
"May the heavens strike me down with lightning!"
Crack-
A bolt of lightning instantly flashed outside the window and struck the yard.
"..."
"..."
Wiping away his sweat, Lynn said, "Uh... as you can see, that lightning bolt that struck for some unknown reason didn't hit me. So that should be sufficient proof of my credibility. What do you think?"
The Blood-Robed Evil Spirit sneered.
Her expression practically said, I'll just quietly watch you keep up this bullshit.
At this point, Lynn exhaled and simply dropped the act, laying his cards on the table.
He plopped down on the bed with the adorable baby in his arms, let out a breath, and shook his head.
"All right... I admit it. I tampered with her. But ma'am, you have to understand that I truly meant no harm whatsoever."
"Besides, when I first delivered your daughter, her face was outrageously messed up. Not only was it covered in pustules, they were bursting and oozing..."
"And as a doctor with a strong sense of justice."
Lynn sighed helplessly.
"If I hadn't corrected it, when that Pighead Demon really came back to claim the Ghost Infant that came out of someone else's belly, could I honestly point to that pus-covered child and tell him, 'This is your baby'?"
"Her face was just too messed up!"
The Blood-Robed Evil Spirit sneered. "Make it up! Keep making it up! Let's see how long you can keep this going!"
[Danger level: 87%] [Danger level: 97%]
Lynn instantly raised his hands in surrender and said helplessly:
"All right, there were other reasons too. This time, it's the truth."
"Talk!"
"First." With his eyes closed, Lynn raised one finger and said, "I'm afraid of dying. I was afraid that once your baby completely broke down, she'd kill me first. After all, she's an Evil Spirit."
The Blood-Robed Evil Spirit sneered. "That excuse sounds somewhat reasonable."
"Second." Lynn raised his head, his eyes still closed. "I wanted to test my handiwork and see whether I could sculpt a nice baby that suited my tastes, so I borrowed yours to grind a little experience."
The Blood-Robed Evil Spirit ground her teeth. "And third?!"
"Third..." Lynn said awkwardly:
"Well, I also entertained the tiny possibility that the Pighead Demon might not come to claim her. I wondered whether I could sculpt a cute girl, then get married and have kids with her once she'd grown up, or something..."
"Yada~~" The adorable baby in his arms went (๑>︶<)و.
"..."
"..."
The Blood-Robed Evil Spirit stood rooted to the spot, as if she'd turned to stone.
Lynn waggled his eyebrows, adjusted his monocle, and said cheerfully:
"Just kidding! How could I, Lynn, ever have such filthy thoughts? I really just wanted to sculpt a prettier baby, something more pleasing to look at. Hehehe-"
"..."
"..."
"Do you think that's funny?" the Blood-Robed Evil Spirit asked, grinding her teeth.
Lynn shook his head and said with his eyes closed, "No."
The Blood-Robed Evil Spirit was so furious she almost laughed. "I think it's hilarious. How about I tear your mouth apart right now so you can laugh to your heart's content? What do you think?"
A composed smile appeared on Lynn's face as he said:
"Ma'am, I think we'd be better off sitting down and talking this through. If you really want to kill me, I'm certainly no match for you. But you need to understand what matters most."
