No one knew how much time had passed.
Two people madly tore into each other, venting their anger at failure amid all that distortion and frenzy.
From their initial fury and desire to tear each other apart to the chaos of being completely controlled, blood and vines intertwined into a terrifying scene that resembled Hell.
It was like an absurd, horrifying dream.
Who knew how much time had passed?
As the surging vines tightened wildly around his body, he could even faintly hear his bones cracking and shattering.
Then a thunderous boom rang through his consciousness, and everything went black.
He knew he must have died.
Died in that terrible battle.
Only, just before his consciousness sank completely into darkness, he vaguely saw those emerald eyes opening amid the weeping-willow-like branches and leaves, filled with complicated emotions.
That must have been death, right?
It was just like every death he had experienced before, cold and empty.
Or perhaps death did not really feel like much at all. The cold and emptiness were merely a fleeting illusion born as his consciousness faded.
Because he knew he would not die.
He would never leave himself without a way out. Even now, he still had two chances at resurrection left.
But for some reason, this time was different.
His resurrection did not come as quickly as it had the previous times. Instead, he seemed to wait for a long, long time-as though an entire century had passed.
Until the system notifications began ringing incessantly in his ears.
