The Colossus Brain's angry, youthful voice came through the Colossus's Transdimensional Link.
Holding down his hood, Lynn smiled between breaths. "All's fair in war, Brain. I knew you'd be on my side! After all, we're comrades-in-arms who've shared a bed. How could you possibly leave me to die, Brain? I love you so much!"
The Colossus Brain said coldly, "But do you think this means you can escape? The magic array has already recorded your verbal consent. No matter how far you run, you'll still be randomly summoned to one of those fifty-odd worlds in a moment, you idiot."
Lynn's lips curved upward. "No, I won't."
"Because I still have to go to Blue Star. I have a reason I absolutely must go there. I know you're all doing this for my own good, but please let me be selfish just this once."
He severed the Colossus's Transdimensional Link.
Tentacles shot out with a rushing clatter, pulling his body forward in a series of lunging bursts.
"Blockhead! How was my performance? Wasn't I cool?"
"Terrible! There wasn't a trace of acting in it. Look at that last change of expression I pulled off. Anyone who didn't know better would've thought I'd unlocked the Clown Curse. That's real acting!"
