He teleported straight into the castle above the towering staircase, surrounded by the residential district.
Dawn had yet to fully break.
But under the Poker Pirates' oppression, everyone on the island had already risen to work, assembling and manufacturing parts for the so-called "King Cannon."
They were also building an enormous castle where the pirates could live in luxury.
When Carol appeared inside the Palace, Bear King was fast asleep with a kidnapped resident in his arms.

Bear King woke instantly, his eyes snapping open.
His entire body turned to steel as he rolled out of bed and looked at Carol.
"Guards!!!"
His booming roar put every member of the Pirates crew inside the castle on alert.
They rushed toward the Palace at its center.
Carol remained still, holding the high-explosive electric grenade as he regarded Bear King.
"Bear King, captain of the Poker Pirates."
"A user of the Paramecia-type Steel-Steel Fruit."
"Your dream is to build the 'King Cannon' and rule the world."
The chaotic footsteps outside drew steadily closer.
Bear King's pupils contracted sharply. Unable to figure Carol out, he stared fixedly at him.
"You know quite a lot."
The man even knew his Devil Fruit Ability and his dream. As far as Bear King knew, only the Marines had that kind of intelligence network.

A wave of paste fell from above, splashing against the spot where Carol had stood before gathering together.
