Life in the Far North

The Ice Empress lives in an underground lair guarded by the Ice Jade Scorpion clan. When Lin Xiao finds her, she is resting on an Ice Crystal Bed and has little confidence in surviving her next heavenly tribulation. Her longstanding bond with the Snow Empress makes her an important intermediary for anyone seeking the latter's support 10 11.

She and the Snow Empress previously relied on the Far North's terrain and climate to oppose Di Tian together. That confrontation did not involve his Dragon God Claw, a limitation the Snow Empress recognizes after their later rematch 51.

Alliance with Lin Xiao

Lin Xiao and Xuan Zi tunnel into her chamber and wake her with stinky tofu and durian. Furious at the intrusion, she attacks, then forcibly withdraws her technique upon recognizing Lin Xiao's Child of Nature aura. The interruption injures her through backlash. His offer to help both Empresses survive their tribulations persuades her to bring him to the Snow Empress 11.

At the palace, Lin Xiao offers the two Thousand-Night Ice Soul Flowers in exchange for support for his future faction. The Ice Empress follows the Snow Empress's decision to become an elder. She later reluctantly accepts Lin Xiao's proposal to marry both of them after the Snow Empress reassures her that they will remain together 12 14.

Life Outside the Far North

After a month of sightseeing with Lin Xiao and the Snow Empress, she settles beside the icy spring of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. The Empresses build an ice house, and she becomes Lin Xiao's regular afternoon sparring partner 15.

During the following six years, the Empresses help oversee the Spirit Pagoda's early Soul Spirit experiments using Far North Soul Beasts. The results satisfy the participants 16.

Human comforts increasingly occupy her time. She stays behind when Lin Xiao and the Snow Empress return to the Far North, and is later shown watching television with potato chips. Nevertheless, she remains a formidable presence at the Spirit Pagoda: her aura forces the visiting Snake Lance Douluo to exert his full strength merely to withstand it 32 35 38.

Personality

The Ice Empress is quick-tempered, proud, and openly possessive of the Snow Empress. She initially treats Lin Xiao as an intruding human, and reacts angrily when his request sounds like a romantic claim on her companion. Her concern for the Snow Empress also prompts her to threaten him if he mistreats her 11 12 14.

Her affection for Lin Xiao contrasts with her dismissive language. Although she calls him a “small fry” and makes a show of resisting his embraces, she willingly stays close to him. She also treasures the figurine he carved for her 20.

She develops a fondness for sleeping late, snacks, and television. The Snow Empress affectionately complains that she has become increasingly lazy since entering human society 32 38 51.
