Dressed in a protective suit, Lü Yongchang ran to the area Zero had indicated, panting for breath.
Just as he was about to look for the supposed cage A2, hurried footsteps sounded behind him.
"Yongchang!" Mao Zhengzhi called.
Muffled by his protective suit, his voice sounded particularly dull. "Zero told me one of the white mice woke up?!"
Lü Yongchang nodded slightly without turning around, continuing to search through the cages on his own.
"Quick, Zero said it was cage A2. Help me find it!"
Mao Zhengzhi nodded and hurriedly bent down to search.
A few minutes later.
Mao Zhengzhi took a small iron cage from the rack in front of him.
Inside, a white mouse energetically scrabbled at the bars.
"Unbelievable..." Looking at the lively little mouse, Lü Yongchang drew a deep breath, his eyes filled with wonder.
Once again, this little white mouse had shown him the miracle of life.
With trembling hands, Lü Yongchang took the cage from Mao Zhengzhi and raised it in front of his face, gazing intently at the mouse.
The mouse stopped scrabbling at the cage and met Lü Yongchang's gaze.
"Heaven bless Xia Country... no, heaven bless the Human Federation!"
Realizing his slip of the tongue, Lü Yongchang quickly corrected himself with a smile. "Once the experiment is over, I'm keeping this mouse in my office!"
"From now on, your name is Aurora!"
Mao Zhengzhi's eyes flickered. "The goddess of dawn in Latin?"
Lü Yongchang nodded firmly, the smile in his eyes growing brighter. "Exactly!"
"This mouse has shown me the dawn of long-distance interstellar travel for humanity!"
As he spoke, Lü Yongchang raised his head and looked up at the deep night sky once more!
He would probably be able to return to space before long!
