The doors slowly opened.
Before Lü Yongchang could enter the laboratory, Zhu Ziwen's voice came from inside. "Professor, you wanted to see me?"
Looking at the young man before him, Lü Yongchang felt a swell of emotion.
The new generation from Proxima Centauri was finally beginning to enter the upper ranks of the Academy of Sciences.
He knew what this new generation was like.
They had been born in enclosed cities and had never experienced life beneath blue skies and white clouds.
As a result, they were naturally a little less personable than the older generation.
Perhaps that made them somewhat dull in everyday life.
But that disposition was undoubtedly better suited to scientific research, especially research beneath the endless stars.
Lü Yongchang wasted no words and asked directly, "How much do you know about mechanical exoskeletons?"
Zhu Ziwen's eyes lit up with delight. "Professor! Are we launching a personal armor program?!"
Lü Yongchang rolled his eyes in exasperation.
"Put that idea out of your head."
"Personal armor... as things stand, it isn't much use in interstellar war."
"The Academy of Sciences can't devote its limited resources to such unimportant projects."
At those words, the brightness in Zhu Ziwen's eyes immediately dimmed.
His shoulders slumped, and he said dejectedly, "I do know about them."
"But why bring up mechanical exoskeletons all of a sudden?"
"Ever since we got robots controlled by Zero, that project has been consigned to the trash."
Lü Yongchang chuckled and reached out to pat Zhu Ziwen's shoulder.
"Now we have an opportunity."
"The Academy of Sciences is preparing to restart the mechanical exoskeleton research project."
Seeing the confusion in Zhu Ziwen's eyes, Lü Yongchang briefly explained the situation on Super-Earth.
"What do you think?"
"Can it be done?"
