Zhang Cheng had gathered thirty people, enough to form a company, but with so many moving together, they could no longer find any robots. More armed recruits were assembling.
Quite a few people shouted, "That's it?"
"It's over before I even got my fill!"
"I've been a soldier for years and died thousands of times! You think this scares me?"
"Brother, this is real life! Calm down!"
"I'm perfectly calm, okay!"
The men who had been hit had all been knocked out by paralysis rounds. The medical logistics teams arrived and began collecting the unfortunate "corpses"!
An organization called the command team quickly dropped in from the air. Bringing fresh intelligence, they immediately began organizing the surviving recruits!
A large robot force would launch a counterattack in half an hour. They needed to hold their position to buy enough time for the "personnel retreating in the rear."
Hold this position at all costs!
The excited recruits gathered supplies and knocked down cornstalks taller than a person. Fortunately, their superiors only intended to give them a taste of battle.
There was no blanket bombardment, but the robots still came like a tide, packed together as they swept through the cornfield!
The robots in the first and second ranks fired their pulse laser rifles with a pew-pew-pew, sending sheets of green projectiles sweeping toward them.
Explosives falling from the sky sent flames billowing in the distance-special-effects rounds-and raised enormous black mushroom clouds.
The recruits howled as they resisted to the death, but against robots that had no fear of dying, they all took multiple hits and "died," their entire bodies paralyzed!
The recruits had been wiped out!
The exercise was over!
Their robot opponents carried the paralyzed recruits aboard landing craft and transported them away...
"We will now review this exercise."
