Ye Fan took the money and left. Still uneasy, Wu Sihan followed him out.

"Are you confident?" Wu Sihan asked, looking at Ye Fan.

"Confident about what?" Ye Fan asked.

"Curing the poison!" Wu Sihan said.

Ye Fan smiled. "That's a trivial matter! My knowledge spans heaven and earth, past and present, and my talent knows no bounds. Curing a little poison is child's play."

Wu Sihan looked at him, still worried. "You know who he is, right? Tang Yongjin, the real estate tycoon. One stomp of his foot could shake the entire industry."

"A tycoon! So this guy is loaded. In that case, should I have asked for more?" Ye Fan rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

Wu Sihan said helplessly, "This isn't about asking for more money. You should build a good relationship with him and earn his goodwill."

Ye Fan waved a hand. "Oh, forget it! That's too much trouble. You have no idea how exhausting it's been chasing my future spouse. I have no energy left to build relationships with anyone else..."

Exasperated, Wu Sihan said, "You need to understand that we can't afford to offend this man!"

"Why would I offend him?" Ye Fan asked in confusion.

Wu Sihan: "..."

Ye Fan glanced at Wu Sihan. "Now that I have money, let's go to Antique Street first and pick out a pill cauldron!"

Wu Sihan asked, "Are you going to refine that Detoxification Pill yourself?"

Ye Fan nodded. "Of course. Where else would the pill come from?"

Not long after Ye Fan left, several doctors discovered that Tang Yongjin had woken up. They were overjoyed.

Tang Yongjin glanced at his attending physician. "Dr. Zhao, how did my blood test turn out?"

Zhao Han said, "Mr. Tang, everything in your blood test came back normal. Your sudden collapse may have been caused by a heart problem."

"Is that so?" Tang Yongjin replied indifferently, then dismissed him.

After Tang Yongjin sent the doctors away, only he and Zhou Jinzhi remained in the room. "Old Zhou, who was that young man?"

"Just a little bastard! Still, he does have some ability," Zhou Jinzhi said.

Zhang Wentao from Dragon Tiger Mountain seemed to think highly of Ye Fan, and people from Dragon Tiger Mountain generally had some real skills.

"Thank you for this. Without you, I'm afraid my chances of surviving would have been slim." Tang Yongjin lowered his head, his voice thick with icy menace.

"You and your love of antiques with dubious origins. Fine pieces or not, they're bound to cause trouble," Zhou Jinzhi said.

Tang Yongjin smiled. "I know. Once I get back, I'll dispose of them all."

Ye Fan's villa.

"Did you deliver the Detoxification Pill?" Ye Fan asked lazily as Wu Sihan walked in.

Wu Sihan nodded. "I did. Does that pill really work?"

Ye Fan glanced at him and smiled. "Relax, cousin. It won't kill him."

Wu Sihan: "..." How was he supposed to feel reassured when Ye Fan said things like that?

"What are you doing?" Wu Sihan asked.

"Just refining some pills," Ye Fan said.

"You're not imitating those ancient emperors, making pills of immortality and then poisoning yourself to death with them, are you?" Wu Sihan asked worriedly.

Ye Fan glanced at him. "Cousin, you're overthinking it. How could those useless frauds possibly compare to me?"

As they talked, Wu Sihan's phone rang.

"Dad, what is it?"

"What? The Tang Group wants to work with us?"

After taking Wu Houxuan's call, Wu Sihan's face lit up with joy. "Cousin, Father secured a joint project with the Tang Group. I'm sure it's all thanks to you."

Ye Fan nodded. "Oh, I see! Remember to give me a share of the profits. I still need to earn money to get married."

Wu Sihan nodded. "Of course, of course. We won't forget you."

Wu Sihan thought, Tang Yongjin isn't easy to fool. If the Tang Group is willing to work with the Wu Family now, that pill must have worked. Looking at Ye Fan, he suddenly felt he could no longer figure him out.

The Liao Family residence.

"Father, what's wrong?" Liao Tingting asked, seeing Liao He's grim expression.

Liao He shook his head and said gravely, "The negotiations with the Tang Group fell through."

Liao Tingting was bewildered. "How? Weren't the talks going well? Besides, hadn't Director Tang Yonghe already promised us the project?"

"Tang Yonghe got into trouble. He's been stripped of all his positions," Liao He said.

"How could that happen? Didn't everyone say the brothers, Tang Yongjin and Tang Yonghe, were very close, and that Tang Yonghe had a lot of influence with Tang Yongjin?" Liao Tingting asked.

"Who the hell knows! Members of powerful families turn against each other all the time. Tang Yonghe probably crossed a line with Tang Yongjin. The bigger problem now is that the Tang Group has partnered with the Wu Family!" Liao He said bitterly.

"Why would they choose the Wu Family?"

"I don't know. I heard the Tang Group made enormous concessions in their contract with the Wu Family, giving them most of the project's profits!" Liao He said.

Liao Tingting was stunned. "How could that happen?"

The Ye Family and the Liao Family had planned to bring down the Wu Family. If the Tang Group backed them, those plans would likely come to nothing.

Liao He shook his head. "It's still unclear. Tingting, how much do you know about Ye Fan?"

"Father, why bring up that useless loser?" Liao Tingting asked resentfully.

"He seems different lately," Liao He said. "Jiang Hailin, Qian Yu, and the others have become very close to him. That alone doesn't mean much, but Elder Zhou seems to value him highly too. From what I've learned, Ye Fan was a major reason the Tang Group chose to work with the Wu Family."

Liao Tingting looked baffled. "Father, could you have gotten it wrong?"

Liao He frowned. "I hope I have. Do you remember when Wu Haoqiang was kidnapped? Ye Fan was the one who resolved it. Perhaps he's been hiding his abilities all along."

Ye Fan sat in his villa, biting the end of his pen, his face full of indecision.

Wu Haoqiang looked at him. "Uncle, what's wrong?"

"I'm trying to figure out how to write a letter to your future aunt!"

Wu Haoqiang thought for a moment. "Just write whatever. Uncle, is this pill for my future aunt?"

Ye Fan nodded. "Yes! Your future aunt is in poor health. It's been no easy feat for him to survive this long!"

"Uncle, when will you make some candy pills for me?" Wu Haoqiang asked.

"Shoo, shoo! Every medicine has its risks. You can't just eat pills whenever you like."

"Uncle, someone's here."

Ye Fan looked toward the door and saw Zhou Jinzhi and Tang Yongjin walking in, one behind the other.

As soon as Zhou Jinzhi arrived, he spotted the pill bottle on the desk, along with a half-written letter. It began, "Dearest A Xi, one day apart feels like three autumns; three days apart leaves me mad with longing." Zhou Jinzhi was utterly speechless.

"Young Master Ye, are you sending something to Young Master Bai?"

Ye Fan nodded. "Yes. He gave me tokens of love, so I have to send a gift in return!"

"Young Master Bai gave you tokens of love?" Zhou Jinzhi asked skeptically.

Ye Fan nodded. "Yes, he gave me lots of precious medicinal herbs."

Zhou Jinzhi: "..."

Tang Yongjin asked in surprise, "You know Young Master Bai?"

Ye Fan nodded. "Yes! I've met his maternal grandfather!"

Zhou Jinzhi shook his head and thought, He makes it sound as though he and Young Master Bai are already together and he's even met the family.

Hearing Ye Fan's reply, Tang Yongjin could not help viewing him in a new light.

"Uncle Zhou, what brings you here?" Ye Fan asked casually.

"Actually, it's Brother Tang who wanted to see you," Zhou Jinzhi said.

Ye Fan looked at Tang Yongjin, his eyes shifting thoughtfully. "You should be almost fully recovered by now!"

Tang Yongjin smiled. "All thanks to you, Young Master Ye. Would you be interested in looking at my collection? I'm planning to part with some of it soon. If anything catches your eye, feel free to take a piece or two."

Ye Fan looked at Tang Yongjin and smiled. "That sounds great!" There was no reason to turn down free gifts. Tang Yongjin was a tycoon, so his collection ought to contain some fine pieces.

Ye Fan looked at Zhou Jinzhi. "Uncle Zhou, your friend knows how to do things much better than you do. You should learn from him!"

Zhou Jinzhi: "..."

"This medicine is for Young Master Bai, right? Shall I deliver it for you?" Zhou Jinzhi asked.

Ye Fan nodded. "Sure, but I haven't finished my letter yet."

"Your letter is fine as it is. There's no need to write too much," Zhou Jinzhi said irritably.

"Really?" Ye Fan asked, puzzled.

Zhou Jinzhi smiled. "Really!" Young Master Bai won't want to read what you've written anyway.

With Wu Haoqiang in tow, Ye Fan followed Zhou Jinzhi and Tang Yongjin outside. As soon as he stepped out of the villa, he spotted Qian Yu.

"Young Master Qian, are you here to see me?"

Qian Yu was surprised to see Zhou Jinzhi and Tang Yongjin. He immediately stepped forward to greet them.

"Young Master Ye, are you...?"

Ye Fan glanced at Qian Yu and pointed at Tang Yongjin. "This gentleman wants to give me some things, so I'm going with him to take a look. If you need something, come back another day."

Qian Yu looked from Tang Yongjin to Ye Fan and hurriedly said, "Of course, don't let me keep you."

Watching Ye Fan walk away, Qian Yu was filled with emotion.

Back when they rescued Wu Haoqiang, Qian Yu had already known that someone like Ye Fan could not remain unknown forever. He simply had not expected him to rise so quickly. The Qian Family was well informed, and before coming here, Qian Yu had already learned that the Tang Group had decided to partner with the Wu Family. After witnessing that scene, he understood why the Tang Family had changed its mind.

The Liao Family had invested a great deal in securing the Tang Group's project. Now, it seemed all that effort had gone to waste.

Liao He prided himself on being a good judge of character, but he had likely misjudged this time, rejecting Ye Fan in favor of Ye Zhize. Once Ye Fan rose to wealth and success, the man would probably bitterly regret his decision.
