Don't Let a Single One In

Ye Fan looked at Bai Yunxi and said, "Yunxi, let's go out to eat."

Bai Yunxi gave Ye Fan an exasperated look. "I'm not as free as you are. I still have work to do."

Ye Fan swung his legs. "You're working way too hard!"

Bai Yunxi narrowed his eyes. "Do you think money falls from the sky?"

Ye Fan: "..."

"Then I'll go buy you something to eat. What would you like? How about spicy crayfish?" Ye Fan asked.

Bai Yunxi smiled helplessly. "No need. Just bring me some fried rice..."

"Fried rice? You're really not picky. Are you working overtime again today? You work so hard. Actually, I could support you," Ye Fan said.

Bai Yunxi smiled. "You've only made fifty million. What have you got to be so smug about?"

Ye Fan said indignantly, "Honestly! I might not be worth that much yet, but I've got a bright future! Forget it. I'll go buy some food..."

Ye Fan stepped out of the elevator. The two receptionists looked at him with odd expressions.

"Young Master Ye, are you heading out?" the long-haired receptionist asked politely.

Ever since his visit that day, Ye Fan had become a regular at the company.

Bai Yunxi was a very aloof man, yet Ye Fan could take naps in his office. Earlier, Ye Fan had even stunk up the place, and Bai Yunxi hadn't gotten angry.

"It's almost lunchtime. I'm going to see what looks good," Ye Fan said.

The receptionist smiled. "Take care, then."

Ye Fan reached the entrance, then suddenly thought of something and returned to the reception desk. "Listen! If any of Yunxi's girlfriends or older or younger sisters come looking for him, stop them. Don't let a single one in, got it?"

The two receptionists exchanged glances without answering. Ye Fan looked at them unhappily. "Did you hear me? I'm telling you, if you let those vixens in, I'll have you both kicked out."

The two receptionists still didn't answer Ye Fan. They merely looked behind him.

"Who are you?" a slightly displeased voice rang out.

Ye Fan turned around and saw a tall, gorgeous woman. He lifted his chin and puffed out his chest, declaring with a hint of defiance, "I'm Yunxi's boyfriend!"

The receptionist: "..." Boyfriend? Had President Bai always kept his love life spotless because he liked someone like Ye Fan?

Bai Yunfei said fiercely, "You're that Ye Fan?"

Ye Fan's eyes lit up. "You know me? How did you hear about me?"

"Do you know who I am?" Bai Yunfei asked with a sardonic smile.

Ye Fan shook his head. "No, I don't!"

"I'm Yunxi's older sister! Bai Yunfei," she said irritably.

Ye Fan breathed a sigh of relief and grinned. "So you really are his big sister. I thought you were a rival."

Ye Fan picked up his backpack from beside him, took out a string of Jade Pendants, and selected one for Bai Yunfei. "Sorry for being rude. This is my apology."

Bai Yunfei stared at Ye Fan, utterly speechless. Did this guy think he could smooth things over with some cheap, mass-produced trinket? Since returning from the ancient tomb, Xiao Chi had talked quite a bit about what an oddball Ye Fan was. Only after meeting him up close did Bai Yunfei realize just how bizarre he was.

"Do you know that one phone call from you nearly put my grandfather in the hospital?" Bai Yunfei said through gritted teeth.

Ye Fan looked completely baffled. "I only called to ask him for Yunxi's number! He didn't even give it to me, and I wasn't angry. Why would he be angry? Getting angry so easily isn't good for him!"

Bai Yunfei said, "And you're still talking! What did you say to my grandfather on the phone?"

"What did I say that was so bad? I said that in the future, we'd become..."

"Shut up!" Bai Yunfei snapped furiously.

Ye Fan looked at Bai Yunfei's dark expression. "Big Sister, you look really worked up. If the old gentleman's angry, how about this? I'll refine a bottle of Tenfold Tonic Pills for him another day as an apology!"

Smiling broadly, Ye Fan pressed a Jade Pendant into Bai Yunfei's hand. "Big Sister, I'm going to buy some food. See you!"

Bai Yunfei watched Ye Fan walk away, drawing breath after breath, her face livid with suppressed anger.

"You two let just anyone in! The next time that guy comes, kick him out," Bai Yunfei said through gritted teeth.

"Miss Bai, President Bai said he's allowed in! He also said that if he wants to go upstairs, we can't stop him anyway. Miss Bai, the first time he came, we didn't let him upstairs, but he came down with President Bai," the receptionist hurriedly explained.

Apparently, something bizarre had happened the day Ye Fan first arrived. A strange man had suddenly appeared outside the conference room window. Since Bai Yunxi had been losing his temper during the meeting, the attendees couldn't decide which was more frightening: Bai Yunxi, or the young man with a bird's nest of hair who had suddenly appeared hanging upside down outside a seventh-floor window.

Bai Yunfei ground her teeth. "Forget it. I'll go see Yunxi."

"What's that smell?" Bai Yunfei couldn't help frowning as she entered Bai Yunxi's office.

Bai Yunxi frowned. "Durian."

Bai Yunfei looked at him in surprise. "Don't you dislike durian?"

Bai Yunxi nodded. "I do. That..."

"Was it Ye Fan? Yunxi, you really do treat that guy differently!"

Bai Yunxi smiled. "Not really."

"Not really? Don't tell me you like that type?" Bai Yunfei asked.

Bai Yunxi shook his head. "I don't know! But I don't dislike him."
