Before he transmigrated, he had a "law-level" constitution.
Whenever his savings reached five hundred thousand, all sorts of unbelievable accidents would inevitably happen within three days, leaving him without a single cent!
Without exception!
He was actually pretty good at making money.
He had earned money singing at a bar. With his outstanding voice and handsome face, he quickly made a name for himself and soon saved up five hundred thousand. Then he tripped on a perfectly flat floor and knocked over the bar's liquor shelves.
Luckily, there hadn't been much liquor left at the time, and no customers were injured. Otherwise, five hundred thousand wouldn't even have covered the damages.
He had earned money livestreaming, too, but the moment he reached five hundred thousand, a flood of refund requests from minors got his account banned outright.
He had earned money trading stocks, but just as his profits reached five hundred thousand, his stocks inexplicably hit the daily lower limit over and over. Afraid of dragging innocent investors down with him, he never touched stocks again.
He had worked in plenty of industries and achieved outstanding results in every one!
It was law-level stuff!
Eventually, with no other choice, he settled down as an office worker, living peacefully on a modest salary.
After transmigrating, Yu Xiuyuan had a strange, wonderful hunch that his "law-level constitution" hadn't come with him!
But a hunch was no guarantee. Fortunately, testing it wasn't difficult. He only had to wait three days to find out.
For those three days, he planned to behave himself and avoid earning any new money through his "own" efforts, minimizing the variables.
The variety show wouldn't pay him for another two months, so that was nothing to worry about.
Having made up his mind, Yu Xiuyuan left the bathroom.
He glanced at the award-winning actor busy on his laptop on the sofa, then at the camera that was still running.
He silently grumbled:
This award-winning actor wasn't doing things properly.
At his level of fame, shouldn't switching off the camera be the first thing he did after returning to his room? That was how all the novels went.
He hadn't considered that the people on dating shows in those novels rushed to switch off the cameras so they could get lovey-dovey.
What about the two of them?
It was the exact opposite. Yun Chuan wanted everyone to see that he wasn't getting close to this nuisance!
While Yu Xiuyuan was washing dishes in the kitchen, Yun Chuan's manager finally got through to him and relayed his fans' demands.
He also sent Yun Chuan the video of Yu Xiuyuan staring at him while he slept that afternoon.
Honestly, Yun Chuan didn't mind Yu Xiuyuan staring at him, and he wasn't someone who changed his behavior because of fans' comments.
After all, he wasn't an idol and didn't take advertising endorsements. He just acted.
But after watching the video, he was certain that this man really was playing games with him.
He was using every trick in the book to get his attention.
Constantly mentioning matching couples' outfits was bad enough, but he had even said he had only been looking at Yun Chuan's face back then.
While Yun Chuan slept, he had stared without blinking, his gaze practically glued to him.
Yet once Yun Chuan woke up, he chose the farthest seat at the table and didn't spare him a single glance. He even made a point of saying he would wash the dishes alone.
It was all a game of playing hard to get.
I absolutely won't fall for these clumsy tricks!
Meanwhile, Yu Xiuyuan rummaged everywhere for pajamas, only to discover that the original owner hadn't brought any. He could only make do with a relatively soft "sack."
Just as he was about to shower, someone knocked on the door.
Seeing that the award-winning actor Yun had no intention of moving, he had to answer it himself. Sure enough, it was Wen Lin again.
"Yun's inside." He turned to leave.
"I'm here for you. Could you come outside and talk with me?"
Yu Xiuyuan was a little surprised, but he didn't refuse. He quietly turned on his phone's audio recorder and followed.
Sure enough, Wen Lin walked beyond the filming area, somewhere even the microphones couldn't pick up their voices.
"Xiuyuan, what's gotten into you today? Why have you changed so much? Did I do something to upset you?"
Yu Xiuyuan considered it. Was this guy really that naive? They had already fallen out, and he still hadn't given up? Fine, I'll play him again.
"I am really upset... You were the one who kept telling me that Yun liked people who took the initiative with that domineering, forceful kind of love. I did what you said, and then you suddenly said those things about me..."
Wen Lin sighed in relief after hearing him out. Good, he was still willing to communicate. He hadn't completely slipped out of his control.
His change in attitude earlier really had been too abrupt. This guy was simple-minded. If he was sulking, a little coaxing would do the trick, just like before.
"I'm sorry, Xiuyuan. I saw that Yun didn't look very happy, so I realized he might not be the way I'd thought. I was afraid you hadn't noticed and wanted to warn you right away, but I came on too strong. Can you forgive me?"
Yu Xiuyuan turned away, refusing to look at him. Picking at his fingers, he said pitifully, "I trusted you so much. Whenever you said someone had bullied you, I believed you unconditionally and immediately went to get back at them for you. Whenever you said someone was bad, I helped you curse them out without even asking why.
"I was so good to you, but you said those things about me on the livestream. With all those viewers watching, I'm too ashamed to face anyone now."
Wen Lin gritted his teeth, moved around in front of him, and took his hand. "I know you treat me better than anyone. It was all my fault. I promise it won't happen again!"
"Really? Then if you do it again, I'll never forgive you!"
"Okay, I promise! It's getting late. Let's hurry back, shall we?" With that, he headed toward the villa first, apparently unable to spare him even one more word.
Yu Xiuyuan gave a derisive chuckle. Was it really that easy?
It seemed the original owner had been obedient enough in the past that Wen Lin could so easily believe he was merely sulking and would forgive him with barely any coaxing.
Back in the room, Yu Xiuyuan picked up his "sack" and went to shower.
After a ten-minute speed shower, he blow-dried his hair a little, pushed open the bathroom door, and walked out.
His hair was only half dry, already fluffy and sticking out in soft tufts that made anyone looking want to give it a ruffle.
The oversized top exposed his long neck and a small patch of skin on his chest, fair and luminous.
The hem hung below his hips, revealing slender, long, pale legs.
Yun Chuan's gaze swept over him. He put down his laptop, strode to the camera in two or three steps, and switched it off.
Only then did Yu Xiuyuan remember that they were still livestreaming.
He wasn't an entertainer, after all. Once he relaxed after his shower, he had forgotten.
He looked down to check. The sack reached halfway down his thighs. Nothing was showing.
Then it's fine. What does a grown man have to be afraid of?
Without a word, he flopped facedown onto the bed and fell straight asleep. The whole day had been exhausting.
Yun Chuan didn't touch his laptop again. He switched off the lights and lay down as well.
For a long time, he couldn't sleep.
What was Yu Xiuyuan trying to do?
Didn't he know they were livestreaming?
Was he really trying to seduce me that blatantly?
Even if he wanted to seduce me, couldn't he have switched off the camera first?
He showed so much skin. Didn't he care that other people could see?
Was he always this careless?
The viewers in front of their screens couldn't sleep either.
"God Yun, don't turn it off..."
"So long, so straight, so pale... I'm down..."
"Those legs... slurp, slurp..."
"God Yun's getting antsy... Yu Xiuyuan doesn't even care, but God Yun's getting antsy..."
"Which eye of yours saw God Yun getting antsy?"
"We longtime fans can tell... God Yun really does treat Yu Dog differently. Is there no hope left?"
"My heart is dead."
"God Yun had been ignoring him all along, so I thought there was still hope, but then..."
"Yu Dog sure knows how to play his cards!"
"Yu Xiuyuan really has changed, though. He's stopped using God Yun for attention."
"How has he changed?? He's even resorted to seduction!"
Yu Xiuyuan slept soundly.
Yun Chuan, however, tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep.
In the faint light of dawn, Yu Xiuyuan opened his eyes.
He shot upright, then noticed the unfamiliar room and remembered that he had transmigrated into a novel. He no longer had to get up early for work and slave away.
He let himself flop back into the covers, nuzzled against them, and comfortably closed his eyes to go back to sleep.
Yun Chuan, a light sleeper, had only just fallen asleep when Yu Xiuyuan woke him again. He seethed with resentment.
He gave him a cold look.
Yu Xiuyuan slept sprawled in every direction, without a shred of dignity. His oversized top had ridden up. Yun Chuan swiftly looked away, then turned back two seconds later in puzzlement.
So he was wearing shorts, and loose ones suitable for wearing outside at that.
Now that the overly long top no longer covered them, the suggestive effect was gone instead.
After a moment of silence, he got up and switched on the camera.
Once he had made sure the camera captured Yu Xiuyuan's messy sleeping posture in full, Yun Chuan lay back down, satisfied.
This time, he fell asleep soon afterward.
