"Mutated Blue Silver Grass is still a trash martial soul in the end. What a pity."
Su Yuntao shook his head, sounding rather disappointed.
"There are no useless martial souls, only useless soul masters."
"Even if her awakened martial soul is Blue Silver Grass, I believe my little sister can still become a great soul master."
Tang Yin stepped forward and took Tang San Niang's little hand, stopping her from revealing the name Blue Silver Emperor.
"Brother."
Hearing those words, the dejected Tang San Niang felt deeply encouraged and moved.
"There's some truth to that." Su Yuntao nodded slightly.
Looking at the child before him, whose eyes and brows showed such determination, he could not help feeling a flicker of admiration.
But that was all.
Many things were easy to say.
Actually crossing those hurdles, however, meant facing a thousand hardships and ten thousand obstacles.
"Let's test your soul power."
Out of that flicker of admiration for Tang Yin, Su Yuntao still let Tang San Niang test her soul power.
Her soft, fair little hand rested on the blue crystal ball.
Dazzling golden light burst forth at once.
Cries of astonishment immediately filled the little wooden hut.
"Innate full soul power! What a shame her martial soul is trash."
The regret on Su Yuntao's face deepened, but he said nothing more.
Instead, he looked expectantly at the last child awaiting his martial soul awakening.
With a younger sister who had innate full soul power,
the talent of this child, her twin elder brother, was certainly worth anticipating.
"Brother!" Tang San Niang called out in delighted surprise.
"Very impressive." Tang Yin stroked his little sister's head and praised her.
Tang San Niang immediately beamed, sweetness filling her heart.
What anyone else thought of her did not matter at all. Her brother's approval was enough.
"Brother, you'll definitely be even better than little San Niang," Tang San Niang said, her small face utterly earnest.
Tang Yin smiled and stepped into the awakening formation.
He extended his right hand and clenched his left, just as Tang San Niang had, in case he too possessed the one-in-ten-thousand twin martial souls.
Countless golden motes streamed into Tang Yin's body. A warm aura seeped through him, and he felt the internal energy of his Mysterious Heaven Skill begin to stir in response.
That warm power seemed to be awakening the potential within his body.
He felt the warm power split into two streams, one gathering in his left hand.
The other, unexpectedly, traveled along the meridians throughout his body.
A look of shock appeared on Su Yuntao's face.
Within the golden shroud of light, Tang Yin absorbed far more awakening energy than all the previous children combined.
This undoubtedly meant that a remarkably powerful martial soul was about to be born!
Yet a moment later, as the awakening motes dispersed,
Su Yuntao was dumbfounded.
Tang Yin's right palm was completely empty.
Where was his martial soul?!!!
"The awakening failed? How is that possible!" Su Yuntao cried out involuntarily.
Tang San Niang's heart clenched, her eyes full of worry.
I actually awakened a body martial soul-Spirit Veins! Could it be because I was obsessed with martial arts in my previous life and searched so desperately for a sense of qi? No wonder I cultivated the Mysterious Heaven Skill so much faster than San Niang.
Tang Yin's thoughts raced, and he made up his mind in an instant.
He immediately smiled. "Uncle, the martial soul I awakened seems different from everyone else's."
He tapped his brow twice with his knuckles. Pale blue light welled from his Yellow Court and flowed along the meridians within him, spreading throughout his body like a plant's roots.
"Th-this... what kind of martial soul is this?" The strange sight left Su Yuntao stammering.
"My martial soul is called Spirit Veins. It makes the meridians throughout my body tougher and stronger."
Tang Yin offered a few vague details to satisfy Su Yuntao.
"Then it belongs to the tool martial soul category." Su Yuntao nodded in understanding.
He had seen plenty of bizarre martial souls.
But this was his first time seeing one like this.
It did not sound particularly impressive.
Su Yuntao lost interest as well.
He then tested Tang Yin's soul power according to procedure.
There were no surprises: another golden legend.
"Your innate soul power talent is astonishing. Would you like to study at Spirit Hall's junior academy?" Su Yuntao invited them.
"Thank you for the invitation, Deacon, but we'll have to ask our father before deciding."
Tang Yin answered politely.
His origins destined him to stand on the opposite side from Spirit Hall.
Naturally, he could never agree to attend Spirit Hall Academy.
Upon learning that Tang Yin and his sister both possessed innate full soul power, Old Jack was overcome with excitement.
He volunteered to take the siblings home, intending to persuade Tang Hao to let them attend a soul master academy.
"No!"
"What did you say?" Old Jack's voice rose several pitches as he stared at Tang Hao in disbelief.
"Two children with innate full soul power, and you won't let them attend a junior soul master academy? Have you drunk yourself senseless?!"
Tang Hao swept a cold gaze over the siblings. "Blue Silver Grass? Spirit Veins? One trash martial soul and one tool martial soul I've never even heard of. Both are garbage. Sending them to school would be a waste. They might as well stay home and cook for me."
Old Jack was so furious that smoke might as well have poured from all seven openings of his head; he nearly fainted.
Tang San Niang hurried to soothe him. Old Jack dearly loved these two sensible children and could hardly make a scene in front of them.
He could only make a strategic retreat for now.
He resolved to return frequently to negotiate with Tang Hao.
After all, there were still three months before the term began at Notting Junior Academy.
There was still plenty of time.
After Old Jack left, the atmosphere inside the house grew heavy.
Tang Hao spoke flatly. "Are you very disappointed that I won't let you become soul masters?"
Tang San Niang opened both hands. "Dad, Brother, what I awakened actually wasn't Blue Silver Grass. It's called Blue Silver Emperor."
"And I have another martial soul, too-Thousand Mechanism Butterfly."
A silver-white mechanical butterfly made of metal appeared in Tang San Niang's left hand. Sharp stinger-like needles tipped her wings, and gears and mechanisms covered her body.
Tang Hao no longer heard Tang San Niang's second sentence.
"Ah Yin...?" Overwhelmed with emotion, Tang Hao wept freely, his hands trembling as he stroked the Blue Silver Emperor in Tang San Niang's palm.
He gave Tang San Niang quite a fright.
Tang Yin shielded Tang San Niang behind him and looked at Tang Hao calmly.
That finally brought Tang Hao back to his senses a little.
As father and son met each other's eyes, even the air seemed to freeze for a moment.
Tang Yin felt a touch of surprise and uncertainty. The Clear Sky Hammer was not with little San Niang.
Could my second martial soul be...?
"Old man, I actually have dual martial souls too."
Tang Yin opened his left hand, and just as expected, a black hammer appeared in his palm.
"The Clear Sky Hammer!!!"
Thud!
The man built like an iron tower crashed to his knees.
Tang Hao trembled all over with excitement, a flush even rising on his sallow, weathered face.
"The Blue Silver twins both have twin martial souls!"
"Hahaha! Heaven has eyes! There's hope for the Clear Sky Sect's revival!"
"Good children. Both of you are my good children."
Tang Hao threw back his head and laughed, cloudy tears rolling down his cheeks. He took Tang San Niang's little hand and solemnly placed it in Tang Yin's palm.
"Little Yin, no matter what happens in the future,"
"you must use your hammer to protect little San Niang's grass. Forever."
Before you continue
