Background / History

Orphanage and Junior Academy

Oscar grew up in an orphanage and financed his junior academy education through his Soul Master stipend. Although his cultivation made him well known among his classmates, his compulsory soul incantation attracted ridicule. He tried unsuccessfully to change it and eventually avoided using his skill in front of others 30 44.

After graduating, he intended to obtain his second soul ring and join Spirit Hall. The destruction of his city’s Spirit Hall branch disrupted that plan, forcing him to hunt alone. The expedition consumed most of his savings, leaving him unable to afford travel to Heaven Dou City 30.

Rescue and Three-Year Agreement

While Oscar was absorbing a soul ring, Wang Wu and Wang Liu threatened his life during a dispute over an Ox Treasure. At Yu Chen’s request, Ming Dashan intervened and drove them away. Oscar initially mistook his rescuer for a potential killer, then bowed in gratitude once the situation was explained 29.

Yu Chen offered to cover Oscar’s tuition and accommodation in Heaven Dou City in exchange for three years of work providing his meals. Oscar recognized the offer as help rather than ordinary employment and accepted after receiving sincere praise for his sausages 30.

During their journey, Oscar began carrying a heavy iron pot for physical training. When the group discovered a village attacked by Wolf Bandits, he took Ming Dashan’s noble token to find the army and returned with cavalry reinforcements from Xinma City 31 32 36.

Academy and Arena

Heaven Dou Royal Intermediate Academy welcomed Oscar as an exceptional food-type talent and housed him next door to Yu Chen in accommodation reserved for priority students. Qin Ming later admitted him to the Imperial Fighting Team Reserve Team by special approval 42 48 51.

At the end of their first year, Oscar chose to graduate alongside Yu Chen despite remaining below the Reserve Team’s normal cultivation threshold. They registered as White Dragon Sausage at Heaven Dou City’s Soul Fighting Arena. In their first doubles match, Oscar used Xiao Bai Dragon’s sandstorm as cover to punch Ye Lingling out of the ring, removing the opposing healer and helping secure victory 55 56 57 58.

Two months later, both earned their first Silver Soul Badges. Oscar was eliminated early in their final pre-promotion match against two Quasi-Soul Ancestors, leaving Yu Chen and Xiao Bai to defeat the opponents 59.

Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect

Oscar accompanied Yu Chen to the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect. After learning of his talent, Yu Yuanzhen invited him to become a core disciple. Oscar accepted and enjoyed abundant resources, personal instruction, and meals delivered to his courtyard 60 70.

Although reluctant to leave the sect’s comfortable cultivation environment, he continued with Yu Chen. They returned to the academy by running overnight with training weights. At the start-of-term test, Oscar withstood rank-twenty-nine pressure while still carrying his iron pot 70 71 72.

Childhood mockery nevertheless made him hesitant about displaying his martial soul and prone to losing his nerve before fights. Yu Chen’s praise and encouragement gradually strengthened his confidence 30 43 55 56.

He enjoys comfort, good food, and opportunities to relax, and often protests training with exaggerated helplessness. Despite those complaints, he pushes through exhaustion because he does not want to hold Yu Chen back. Around outsiders, he is more inclined to boast about his endurance 31 51 55.
