By the time Yu Lin Bloodhawk emerged from the Teleportation Circle, he had returned to his normal elven state. The Taiji Diagram in his Sea of Consciousness had not been a sudden flash of inspiration. Ever since learning that he could cultivate the skills and energy systems of both a Hunter and a Death Knight-two utterly different classes-he had been thinking about how to use both energies at once.
Of these two energies, one governed life and the other death. Only after a great deal of thought had Yu Lin Bloodhawk decided to try incorporating the principles of Taiji and see whether he could succeed. As far as he knew, he could think of no other way to accommodate two almost completely opposing powers at the same time, whereas the Taiji Diagram, a concept from ancient China, fit perfectly.
Even as someone who had transmigrated, Yu Lin Bloodhawk would never have easily thought of a connection between these two entirely different systems of knowledge. It was much like how an ordinary person would never think English and Chinese had anything to do with each other, yet truly clever people had drawn on the letters of the English alphabet to invent Chinese pinyin for teaching children.
As luck would have it, Yu Lin Bloodhawk happened to have just such a person around him: the Old Charlatan, Sorens. Long ago, after Yu Lin Bloodhawk had fooled him with the Taiji Diagram, the old man had actually gone off to study it. During that period, he had pestered Yu Lin Bloodhawk endlessly, to the point that Yu Lin Bloodhawk often made excuses to avoid him. He had simply thought the old fellow had become obsessed and would have tremendous potential as a charlatan.
But Sorens and Yu Lin Bloodhawk were truly very different.
