When Yu Lin Bloodhawk received Fourteen's letter, he was astonished by how quickly the Blood Skull Pirate Crew's influence had grown in Stranglethorn Vale. He had never expected Bloodskull to develop so rapidly, much less that the Blood Skull Pirate Crew would seize so many Small Warships and Gunboats there.
Originally, he had ordered his people to remain in Stranglethorn Vale under the Blood Skull Pirate Crew's identity for two reasons: to continue trading Battle Pets with the major Troll factions there, and to gather intelligence under the crew's name.
Although Stranglethorn Vale was a Pirate haven, it attracted all sorts of people, and valuable information often surfaced there.
But Yu Lin Bloodhawk had never imagined that the Blood Skull Pirate Crew could achieve so much in Stranglethorn Vale. Even when he had recently ordered Fourteen to establish a base on Hakkari Island, he had not intended to occupy it permanently. It had merely been a way to deal with the Zul'Aman Troll prisoners of war.
Yu Lin Bloodhawk believed that if the High Elf Kingdom of Quel'Thalas captured Zul'Aman City, the vast numbers of Zul'Aman Troll civilians who had taken refuge inside during the war would also be sent to the Hinterlands. The Hinterlands could not possibly accommodate so many prisoners, yet he could not let those Zul'Aman Trolls remain within Quel'Thalas's borders.
He believed he could not slaughter or bury alive so many people who had already laid down their weapons, so he could only send these prisoners somewhere far away-the farther, the better! Only then could the High Elves of Quel'Thalas enjoy a period of peace without war before the Undead arrived.
