When Sylvanas saw Yu Lin Bloodhawk, he was deep in conversation with several Gryphon Rider Bodyguards. Curious about what they were discussing, she quietly moved closer to eavesdrop.
After listening for a while, Sylvanas realized that they were merely chatting about whatever came to mind. There was hardly any fixed topic; they simply followed wherever the conversation led. They might spend only a few sentences on one subject before switching to something entirely different.
Sylvanas was about to interrupt their idle banter when she heard a Gryphon Knight ask, "City Lord, when are we going back to The Hinterlands?"
"What's wrong? Missing home?" Then Yu Lin Bloodhawk nodded. "You're right. We've been away for quite a while. It's about time we went back for a visit."
"Then when are we going back?" Several Gryphon Riders looked at him eagerly.
"Give it a little longer!" Yu Lin Bloodhawk thought for a moment. "We have a Portal in Trial Valley, so getting back to The Hinterlands will be easy. We won't have to spend all that time crossing the sea again. Once that girl Sylvanas finishes things up here, we'll return to Trial Valley with the fleet, then take the Portal back to The Hinterlands for a few days' rest."
"That sounds good! I miss home too," another Gryphon Rider Bodyguard said.
"You didn't go back for a visit when we withdrew to Ratchet?" Yu Lin Bloodhawk asked in surprise.
"No. How could we go back when you hadn't, my lord? Even the Household Guard members stayed, so we Bodyguards certainly didn't dare leave," another Gryphon Rider Bodyguard said with a rueful smile.
"Uh... all right! That was an oversight on my part." Yu Lin Bloodhawk smiled ruefully too. "I've been so busy with other things that I forgot about your needs."
